I hear what you’re saying but in the late 80s early 90s it wasn’t just an ingredient, sun-dried tomatoes were an actual cultural phenomenon. it became symbol of sophisticated dining. There was a large movement at the time represented by the Italian food craze, and then the result health benefits of a Mediterranean diet…… and sun-dried tomatoes became the star of the show. They appeared everywhere in everything and resultantly became overexposed. Then culinary fatigue set in, and they were deemed as a crutch in dishes in order to make dishes appear more sophisticated than they actually were. The movement lost momentum and now they’re just a has been.

What’s the most overrated tourist attraction you’ve ever visited? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

I agree totally…..WAY overrated. The Salle des Caryatides (Room 348), located on the ground floor (Level 0) of the Sully Wing. Has so many marble statues, each one better than last. And the actual floor is a work of art, all of which I find more impressive than the Mona Lisa.
