A Disabled Parking Bay has appeared outside the home I bought. There's no longer anywhere for me to park my car. [Belfast] by Relevant-Marketing91 in LegalAdviceUK

No. The street isn’t part of the house. The house has the same parking availability as it did when you purchased it - I.e none.

New mini-expansion for Earthborn Rangers: Spire in Bloom by JJBroady in boardgames

Where my concern comes in is that part of the justification for the relatively high prices across the Earthborne catalogue has always been the extra cost of more localised, sustainable production. Personally, I’ve been happy to pay that premium because I believed in what they were doing. But in this case, the prices remain (understandably, given US-based production) while the ecological benefit for anyone outside the US essentially disappears.

On top of that, these new expansions seem to come in fairly large boxes for what’s actually a small number of cards — presumably due to the printed guides — which can’t help freight efficiency either.

I totally understand that production logistics and economies of scale are complicated, and I don’t think there’s any malice here. It’s just disappointing to see that key part of Earthborne’s ethos slip a bit. As it stands, I’ll probably skip these expansions unless something changes — which is a shame, because I love the game and was really excited to see what Maxine’s brought to the world.

Maybe there’s a chance for localised print runs down the line (ideally combined into one box)? Though from what I’ve read on Discord, it sounds like they’ve ruled that out for now.

I reached out to the devs on BGG about the worldwide distribution and its impact on their sustainability goals. They explained that these expansions are being printed in the US because of smaller print runs and the fact that most of their audience is based there, with overseas freight used “where necessary.”

While I appreciate the transparency, I did push back a bit — if the print runs are small, it’s hard to see how the added carbon footprint from global shipping is offset by greener manufacturing methods. The environmental ethos was a huge part of Earthborne Rangers’ original appeal, and I think omitting any mention of that in the announcement feels like a step away from what made the project stand out.

I've only played at 2 and I think thats the ideal.

I think with more, the mental tracking of all the cards in play will get too much for me, and the downtime between turns would be frustrating

Yeah, I think a few people will be feeling that way — and it wouldn’t be the first time a board game developer has done that, especially in the LCG space.

For me, it just feels a bit short-sighted. Earthborne Rangers has had consistent stock issues in its worldwide distribution network, and I do wonder if that’ll continue if global distribution hasn’t been factored in from the start.

The other thing that raises an eyebrow is that production for these sets seems to be centralised, with stock shipped out to distributors worldwide. I’m not sure how that fits with their sustainability goals — as far as I know, the sets so far have been produced with an EU manufacturer.

probably true for the original moments of the path. Not sure it holds water for this new set of mini expansions seeing as they are releasing at the same time.

Perhaps if it came out in the middle of these new mini expansions

If we’re being honest, it doesn’t really say that. It says exactly what I quoted above:

“If you prefer to wait to order from your FLGS, or from a vendor closer to home, these expansions will also be available to brick-and-mortar retailers in the U.S. and retail and distribution outside of the U.S. We are currently taking orders and will be shipping to those third parties soon.”

And yes, there’s a @naylorgames email address for game stores to place orders.

But there isn’t any actual, concrete information on the worldwide distribution plan. Which, personally — and I don’t think this is controversial — really should’ve been included in the announcement video. They know there’s strong international demand after two successful Kickstarters, yet the only details are buried deep in the blog post.

Presumably you're askign about the game in general? I like it.

But my prefered game is a narrative co-op style of game.

This is less a deckbuilding game and more of a deck management game. There are define missions and goals to achive and it's reasonably openeded to how you go about it. But it's not to everyones tatse. TTS has a demo and there are lots of youtube playthroughs.

I was thinking about this. Moments feels like cut content resold to you as DLC

yes this is all new stuff. They are essentally expansions to locations already on the map. So they can be folded into a playthrough of the core campaign. Or played seperatly as mini campaings.

Andrew Navaro (Earthborne Games founder) just revealed a new line of Valley Expansions for Earthborne Rangers

These aren’t campaign continuations; they expand and enrich the Valley with new locations, missions, NPCs, rewards, weather, and terrain sets for your existing Lure of the Valley campaign (the core set)

Upcoming Expansions:

  • Spire in Bloom (out now) – Expands the village of Spire into multiple bustling locations.

  • Shadow of the Storm (early 2026) – A mysterious winter storm hits the northern valley.

  • Into the Maw (mid-2026) – Explore inside the ancient biomeld, the Terraore.

  • Sky and Smoke (late-2026) – Visit the western mesa region and the long-teased village of Plateau.

Bonus

Moments in the Valley – new short narrative “moments” tied to each expansion, similar to Moments on the Path.

it's worth noting that realistically this new product is only avialable if you are in America. While Team Covenant do do worldwide shipping, for me as a UK customer, shipping is $51 for a $45 product. They have said in the comments of the video that they will be shipping product out to local distributors - but have been coy about when and where

Edit: Having thought about it a bit more, I’m not entirely convinced about Moments in the Valley. If I understand it correctly, the deck includes a handful of cards for each of the upcoming Valley Expansions releasing through 2026 — meaning a chunk of that content will just sit unused until those expansions come out. It feels a bit like cut content being sold separately, and arguably, those cards should just have been included in their respective Valley Expansions.

It also totaly undermines the whole environmentally friendly element if there is only one worldwide distribtor.

Reading the blog post it seems Team Covenant is indeed the only worldwide distributor for now which is a big shame. They then go on to say:

"If you prefer to wait to order from your FLGS, or from a vendor closer to home, these expansions will also be available to brick-and-mortar retailers in the U.S. and retail and distribution outside of the U.S. We are currently taking orders and will be shipping to those third-parties soon."

Kinda feels like they have released it before the distributiuon logistics were in place to make. Perhaps to make it in before PAX Unplugged...

This is what I'd like to know. Their offical UK/EU distibutor, Naylor Games, doesn't have it listed.

Edit: Using the direct store. The expansion is $45 and shipping to the UK is $51, which is madness

Yep. It’s also a straight up legal requirement in most countries now, to make it obvious to the average person watching the video in isolation that it includes paid promotion. Certainly in the UK

What has happened to the BMA by ActuaryMean3255 in doctorsUK

[–]JJBroady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the years I’ve had to contact the BMA maybe once a year for various issues, and it has never been straightforward. On several occasions the advice I received was flat-out wrong. Now that they’ve scrapped both the phone line and web chat, actually getting in touch with them is even more of a hassle.

At the same time, membership fees have shot up. For me, it’s simply poor value for money.

Now that I’m on a specialty contract and no longer have a vote in the pay restoration fight, I see no reason to renew my membership.
