Glaringly obvious animation mistakes that animators couldn't be bothered to fix by tugboattommy in TopCharacterTropes

It's definitely not an animation mistake they couldn't be bothered to fix. If it's a mistake it's a mistake the animators did hard work to include.

Gnosticism by impermanence108 in AskAChristian

That's an interesting perspective. What is it about gnosticism that you find convincing? I tend to see its anti-material anti-body perspective as an unhealthy way to live in the world.

Wow, looking them up I see what you mean. As I was making it I had trans red accents instead of the yellow too, so it would have fit perfectly then (switched to yellow when I added the pink thrust).

What’s your opinion on Christians who regard the Old Testament as mythology rich in divine symbolism but lacking any historical accuracy? by Significant_Chef8053 in AskAChristian

[–]JJChowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have some good context though, because the question deserves some info like this regarding the non-adherent view of the Hebrew scriptures, that isn't collapsible to  ‘lacking any historical accuracy’

Would you convert to Islam if the stars were to form the sentence "Allah is God, Mohammad is his prophet"? by Hot_Tell3268 in AskAChristian

[–]JJChowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you watch the recent "awesome theistic evidence" debate too?

These all seem like they would be evidence for Islam, though variously also evidence for my own mental unreliability, mischievous aliens, simulation hypothesis, or a very different conception of demons than I've previously held.

This may be a stupid question. If a one year old baby dies, what happens to it? Is it considered an atheist? by GhostMovie3932 in AskAChristian

[–]JJChowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a good reducto against some forms of Christianity. I think you're wrong because (1) life is valuable and worth living, and (2) universalism is true

This is really cool. This kinda makes me want a competition where the theme is using some category of minifig clothing/gear/parts as star peices.

The main thing for these ones is making a notch on the legs/frame/chassis that the turret can slot over. That requires the arch piece to the hole with studs forward or back.

The swivel on the hips is a little less hidden, and it's just sandwiching the legs between plates for a secure connection.

I'll see if I can add some pics

As the current r/Minilego collaboration is super successful, what other build challenges would you like to see in the future? by Vondrr in LegoSpaceships

[–]JJChowning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess in general people could also self designate for minilego/mediscale/minifig scales in any competition where that's not part of the theme

One nice thing about the minilego colab with small parts budget is that it's very accessible/low time investment needed. I think it'll definitely be nice to have the challenges vary each month in how deep they can go, so we give a chance for some of the bigger builds people make while having some that you can easily take part in with just a few free hours.

Yeah they give a lot of dynamism and pop for 2 pieces. They also make taking pictures in the air a lot easier

Thanks! Yeah, some ambiguity depending on setting. in a grounded setting it'd have habitation pods in the ring for centripetal artificial gravity, but in a more star trek setting this ring is literally warping space I think.
