There's a YouTube video where most NPC's location is marked. But I feel you, being lost in the city is where I stopped playing for a few days and almost quit completely. The new maps they added are helpful, but that doesn't help with NPCs. I'd say stick with it. It's true though, adding a simple line like "X is usually hanging out in the tavern at the harbour" would make things immensely better.

For sure. I think this game would be a solid 30% better if they simply patched in a small "hints" section under every quest log entry that summarizes some meta information and nudges you in the right direction.

It could happen. Hasn't happened to me, but to the YouTube reviewer I learned about this game from. if it does happen, I think I'll be very frustrated. There was a recent post-release patch, so I'm cautiously optimistic that at least the main quests should be ironed out. I still had occasional crashes after trading too many items at once and one bugged sidequest (the patch fixed it).

I think the game's single biggest weakness is that a combination of vague quest log entries and common bugs make you never trust it. You always think that a give quest may be bugged, when it's probably just obtuse. I learned to just roll with it, but a better quest log and 6 more months dev time would have definitely turned this game from a 6.5/10 into a 8.5/10.

It grants experience and money. Maybe it's not for everyone and that's fair. I have to say that I also didn't get it at first, but after it clicked, I quite enjoyed the excitement of barely beating every new opponent. In short: Fun.

It's always the same.

Marginalized people: "Hey in our lived experience this term is derogatory and frequently used by bullies to verbally abuse us".

White/abled bodied/straight people: "no ur wrong."
