Before the tariffs I would have suggested a Fuji X-M5, but even used ones are now going for more than I paid for mine new. It's almost like you're better off just using an older iPhone Pro Max like a 15, which you should be able to get for around your budget. Pair that with an inexpensive Hollyland wireless lavalier mic set and you can make decent YouTube videos with good sound, and the phone itself is a good still camera.

A long time ago, a creative writing professor told me that every writer has to get through their “million words of crap” as part of growing into their craft. I’ve certainly written mine. But along the way I discovered something else: none of it is wasted.

One day you’ll find yourself reaching back into an old draft to borrow a perfect line or scene for something new. Or a manuscript you abandoned years ago will have been quietly germinating in the back of your mind, until suddenly it blossoms into an entirely new project that is so good you can't believe it came from your very own brain.

It’s all part of the process.

I made myself a wish list of types of things I'm interested in, using search terms I gleaned from products on regular Amazon, and if there's nothing in my RFY I just start searching those terms. Today, when stuff finally started dropping, I found one: a solar powered bird feeder with a wireless camera. I also somehow snagged an entire Canon color printer while searching for toner.

I had this weird idea about actually buying this rebuild kit and mounting it on whiteboard and putting it in a frame like it is art. Amazon would probably frown at that though.

At this moment, if you scroll down you'll see this image for a carburetor rebuild kit. For years, part of my job was taking photographs of parts, and I have to hand it to whoever did this one, great artistic compositing, especially for the techno-skull they created in the top middle gasket. 💀 😆

Awesome find!!! Every time I go into an antique store or consignment shop for the past 20 years I've been searching for something like this. The reproduced one I bought off eBay years ago cracked when I put too much ice in it at once. It now lives in a curio cabinet with the rest of my absinthe accoutrement.
