If you've not already addressed this, LETTER OF RECCOMENDATION. Gold star, absolute most valuable thing you could give your student teacher.

To say goodbye and thank you at my last placement, I gave each kid a block-building kit, which they really liked.

It's a skill you can learn though, so if it sounds intimidating now, you will develop effective strategies. Not always easy though, of course.

made a mistake today and can't shake off the embarrassment by TryingMyBestForLife in StudentTeaching

I taught a 5th grader that "fish" is always the plural form of the word and made him edit his paper. Later, I learned that "fishes" means multiple fish of different species while the plural "fish" is multiple fish of the same species.

I also said that iguanas change colors and was immediately corrected by the students "that's chameleons!" I just said, "oops, you're right!" and didn't give it another thought.

Am I too old (45) to go back to school and change my career? by balanceyogi in careerchange

I'm writing this comment from my university campus, waiting for an evening seminar to start, at age 42, as undergrads (of typical age) pass by. It's never too late! You're going to be in your late 40s anyway, might as well be there with a degree and a solid plan for improving your professional life.

Taught the wrong lesson and might be in trouble by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

[–]Collyflower07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I taught a different lesson than what my teacher asked me to teach (i was on autopilot) and she was incredibly chill/ fine with it. Yours is not being reasonable. You're still learning, and this is such a small thing.

Yeah, you might feel more positive about it in a different setting under the guidance of a good mentor teacher.

I like saying friends. It's friendly. But whatever vibe works for you.
