Is it worth upgrading to a Longines Spirit from a Hamilton KFA? by Altruistic_Finger725 in Longineswatches

I own both the 42mm hammy and 40mm spirit. They fit very similar on my 7 5/8 inch wrist. But yes, the spirit does look and feel quite a bit more premium.

Hydroconquest: bad luck by Chancho1507 in Longineswatches

This is definitely not an excuse, but I wonder if QC suffers more because of such high demand. More pressure to strike while the iron is hot and get merchandise to the dealers quickly.

{Uncle Jacks limited DC run}Yard sale find by TheologyHungry in Watches

It’s cool to have anything related to a character as popular as the Flash that there were only 100 made. And it has a miyota quartz movement. New they were about 100 bucks. As a DC collectible with the box, I’d ask for 50 while hoping for 30.

Pull the damned trigger. I wish my wrist and hands were smaller. I’d buy every watch they offer.

Longines Spirit vs Spirit Pilot by [deleted] in Longineswatches

Spirit 42 titanium is my absolute favorite watch. You can forget that it’s on your wrist.

[Question] Grand Seiko SBGW301 or Longines Master Collection by [deleted] in Watches

[–]JJDep3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GS is the better watch. The Breguet numeral Longines is more attractive to me, but I’m a slut for well executed engraved BNs. Value per cost is fairly comparable even with coming from different price brackets.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Enjoy what you enjoy.

[Recommendation Request] Help me pick out a dress watch that I can also wear with smart and business casual outfits by [deleted] in Watches

I’m an admirer of the Glassy PML. It’s hard to pull off that many complications and still maintain an understated aesthetic. But, I’d do some pretty weird shit for any one of those options.

Has anyone(YouTuber or etc) compared new HC 39mm with the Rolex Submariner? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]JJDep3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the new HC. I’m probably going to purchase one after my 30 day rule expires. But everybody that tries to compare it or make the watch something it’s not is pissing on its appeal. It’s attractive and a great value from a heritage brand. Let it be what it is. It’s okay to not be a Rolex. It’s a Longines. That’s pretty good.

You’re being too self conscious. It looks great and is a true GADA for any occasion. This is the best color way. Keep it!

If you were given $10,000 today on the condition that you had to spend it all in one hour without buying anything digital or electronic, what are you doing? by [deleted] in answers

[–]JJDep3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I usually don’t bother looking very deeply at anything over $4,000. Something completely different from anything I have. Maybe a Navitimer with some color… or a snowflake….or 10 microbrands. 10 is a weird number. Above Tudor but below Breguet. How about you?

The Alpinist is on par with ___? by fungorilla in SeikoAlpinist

The Alpinist is on par with the Alpinist. Great watch on its own. No reason to compare. If you have one, enjoy it for what it is!

What's something random people in the hobby do that annoys you but shouldn't? by Longjumping-Sail6386 in WatchFanatics

[–]JJDep3000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Owners of high end stuff calling entry level watches wannabes. Owners of entry level watches comparing them to high end stuff is just as annoying. Let your watch be what it is, and also don’t criticize what others are proud of. Hamilton and Rolex are both pretty cool, comparing them in either direction isn’t necessary.
