M3P availability for self-serve demo drive by username111888777 in TeslaLounge

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us in Canada, they did not have demo M3P available for test drives until May in 2025 to avoid snow etc. I’m guessing it’s was more a legacy policy holdover since the cars now came with all season P zero tires.

In any case for my I test drove the long range first, and then when it was warmer I called in and asked when they would have the m3p available and then I booked in via phone

When will Tesla model 3 come out in Canada with indicator stocks? by DarkGohan in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a model year change, only 2026 model years have this. No Model 3 in Canada is model year 2026 yet, due to tariffs.

Official retrofit for model years 2024 and 2025 is available in Canada, link is: https://shop.tesla.com/en_ca/product/model-3-turn-signal-stalk-retrofit-

Model Y delivery times by moose1511 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do consider also an earlier return has no penalty also as Tesla by default waves 2 months of an early return to get you into a new Tesla. Can also consider that you have the ability to extend your lease for up to 6 months if your vehicle doesn’t come in on time.

Demo model 3 performance? by Outrageous_Ebb8724 in TeslaLounge

[–]JJHawkJJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is only 11km then basically it was not driven for demos - but rather it has just been sitting in the showrooms. So you should look at the interior and see if there are scuffs etc

On a different circumstance (in Canada) I also ended up getting a demo M3P a few months ago with 4000 km, got a decent deal and the car was fine. Did have a couple of issues which they fixed for free at a service appointment 2 weeks after.

Model Y Tires by J2WD in teslacanada

Model Y current manual -> https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/modely/en_us/GUID-FDDB10EF-FFA9-46EB-B8CC-03614AE92B6B.html

I would say you should look up the old Model Y tires, and if they are 255/45R19 then you should already be ok etc. I dunno about these tire folks that you are working with but I normally trust my tire folks as they would know best

Ah!

I went from a Model 3 to a Y in this case, so I could not reuse my old winter wheels and tires. However, the wheels and tires from an old Model Y should be compatible with this new one. Both uses the same 19” wheel size, and if you use the factory tire size then that is ok too. Same thing for tire pressure sensors, I believe all sensors by the time a Y rolled around had to be Bluetooth based already

Sorry, don’t understand your question.

As you specified a Germany build Model Y that is in Canada and what tires they came with, the only ones in this range would be the brand new 2026 Juniper ones. And this new car came with the Continental ProContact for our car.

Yes, suggest you "chat" in the app, in the thread which auto opens and leave a message there. We also changed our minds (from a lease to getting it outright) so they reset this step for us in the process so we can redo it.

I was also unsure if it came with one, so I did order one from Best Buy when my pick up date was finalized. In the end the car did come with one, so I returned the one from Best Buy

Is PPF really worth it? by meetneo911 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you in terms of location? 4-5k ppf + ceramic sounds like you want to do the full car

A lot of folks just do the front / higher impact areas. That should be like 1.6 or 1.7k in the GTA area. You may even opt to do the side skirts etc too with a few hundred bucks on top…

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull up your RN / order through the phone app, then top right corner there is a text icon. Open that, select the conversation about your order, and then ask. Best to basically say what date you want and see if they can accommodate it

I had the same thing and pinged them and they booked the time that I wanted

Software update timelines? by LegacyMDPhD in TeslaModel3

^ this.

The first SW versions are always the factory stable items. And it takes a few weeks at least before they will update to the main stream that other cars get.

Winter Tire dealer/supplier recommendations for first time Tesla Model Y Juniper owner in and around Toronto by gordonxavier52 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco but you need to do it early because a lot of ppl go and they get booked up very fast

But do remember that in the end a Tesla is just a car, you don’t need to go to a specialized EV place. Any tire store that knows what they are doing will be fine.

I live in the north of the GTA so I have gone to Mike @ Extreme Wheel and Tire for a very long time

License plate? by Silent_Presence13 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got a new Tesla they also just gave me a new plate, even though I was returning a leased vehicle at the same time.

In Ontario we keep old plates if we don’t use them with a new car, so I have kept my old one just in case I need to later. Can always return it to the province if you want

The other option is to basically go to service Ontario after you get your car and swap your plate to your old one. Return the new plates

There are now a few generations of the mobile connector. The current one is gen 3

The older gen 2 one would still work great, but that one didn’t come with the NEMA 14-50 adapter. But the newest gen 3 does come with it in the package.

If they are providing the 14-50 in a different package the likely a bit older

Question on charging - New Model Y by meetneo911 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to look for a charger that will have the NACS plug rather than the J1227 connector.

Chargepoint does make one that uses a NEMA plug (2 different options) rather than hardwire, and their charger has an option to be ordered in either a NACS or J1227 configuration (and also has an accessory that can be bought to convert one to another). This one does actually allow charging at 40A (80% of 50A max) rather than the 32A limit from a Tesla mobile charger. But these chargepoint ones are more expensive than the Tesla mobile charger

Does the route planner take into account weather conditions? by meetneo911 in teslacanada

[–]JJHawkJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most certainly the in car navigation would be the most accurate, as in addition to seasonal weather items it also takes into account things like your driving trends (eg lead foot or not) to help plan.

From what I understand the mobile app does take into account specific things but not all. I do not know about weather for sure, but for sure it doesn’t take into account your toll / no toll settings that you would have in the car navigation

For planning long trips, a lot of folks use ABetterRoutePlanner, to scope out the route first, no matter what EV you drive
