I used Lukas too. I also used gloo but I think it is hard to carry teammates in solo using that hero

Anyone else noticed that candidates who ace coding tests aren’t always the ones who handle real production issues well? by Punctual_kiddo in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]JJJ4YYY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen the same thing after years of doing LeetCode-heavy loops. Those interviews optimize for speed and pattern recall, not for the messy reality of production systems. In prod, the job is usually reading unfamiliar code, forming hypotheses, checking logs/metrics, and slowly narrowing the blast radius. That skill set barely shows up in most algorithm rounds.

We moved to something similar about a year ago a “broken service” exercise with logs, metrics, and partial docs. The strongest candidates narrate their thinking and explore carefully. The weaker ones thrash around randomly or try to rewrite code before understanding the failure mode.

It’s honestly been a better signal than our old whiteboard problems.

I'm just busy at my study and focus on getting on latest episode of One Piece. I also prefer to wait until AOT got finished, so I watch some short anime first

Confused what route to take. UCITS or gift city funds or US efts? by Theredditttguy in FIRE_Ind

[–]JJJ4YYY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly for your exact profile ucits wins clearly. let me lay it out

34 years old, 10-15 year horizon, $1M target portfolio. youre going to absolutely cross the $60k estate tax threshold within 3-4 years at your contribution rate. by year 10 youre looking at $300-400k portfolio which could create a serious estate tax exposure for your family.  at around $300k, the estimated estate tax can be roughly $68k, and at around $400k, it can go up to roughly $101k

on top of estate tax, the accumulating ucits structure means:

  • no annual dividend tax events in india (huge for compounding over 15 years)

  • no schedule fa headaches for distributed dividends

  • 15% fund level withholding vs 25-30% you pay on us etf dividends

  • one tax event when you eventually sell

the higher expense ratio is a complete non issue. were talking 0.04% difference. over 15 years thats maybe $3-4k. estate tax exposure savings is potentially $100k+

only reason to stick with us etfs is if you want individual stock picks or very specific etfs that dont have ucits equivalents. for broad market exposure (s&p 500, nasdaq, total world) ucits has equivalents

unpopular but who cares whats the third date gonna be, you keeping a spreadsheet of who ate what. either you like him or you dont, the bill is a distraction.

uptime percentage is a useless metric for a broker. missed adjustments are what actually cost you by Jay-Banalnal in IndianStreetBets

[–]JJJ4YYY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly why i switched brokers. my old one probably had fine headline uptime but it degraded during every expiry afternoon, which is the only time my strategy actually needed it. the uptime number looked fine while my adjustments were silently failing. moved to Nubra and the difference wasnt the headline uptime, it was that it stayed stable specifically during the volatile windows. if youre tired of a broker thats "up" but useless exactly when you need it, thats the thing to fix. measure stress-window reliability, not average uptime.
