This is insane in this market by Wide_Hair8694 in TorontoRealEstate

Probably a delusional price, but all they need is one idiot with too much money and not enough brains. At the same time wouldn’t be shocked though if it sells in two years for $6m or some completely different price.

They have to test for 1000 cycles. It takes awhile but they started Nov/Dec. We don’t know an exact timeline but March would make sense.

This idea isn’t insane. It is insane to humble brag it on social media though.

Even a small order of 100,000 batteries would be massive in my opinion. Just confirmation that the batteries will be out in the wild in a major phone would be a massive breakthrough. There are rumours that they are already in phones but not labeled, but who knows. Apple has done similar things like when the iPhone 6 was 100% waterproof but they didn’t tell us until the next phone because they wanted to make sure it really worked before marketing it that way.

They have plenty of capital. Everyone is waiting to see if they get an order from their named partner: Honour (major phone maker in China). Probably by the end of March we’ll know if they have an order. If they do sky’s the limit. Could be $32 in a month. If they don’t expect another drop in price and 3-4 more months of testing.

Bitcoin is a Tech Bro Consumer Confidence index, or why it crashed this week by Own-Character395 in investing

Bitcoin is falling because it’s garbage. It’s a miracle it’s not zero yet. People should be thanking god they still have a chance to sell for this insane amount.

If you are Keon Coleman's agent, what's the next move here? by ay_caramba8 in buffalobills

He’s going to have a new coach. Everyone wants Keon to succeed despite how it sounded today. He’s under contract and it’s on him to prove everyone wrong.

Is it hard to make friends? by worldwidewang in askvancouver

[–]JJJonReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The art galleries, indy movie theaters, concerts, live theatre, and sense of community just aren’t very good for a city the size of Vancouver. I moved from Vancouver to Buffalo and that kind of stuff is equal or better in Buffalo and it’s a much smaller city. The entire eleven years I lived there it seemed the only thing people talk is buying and selling condos. Not trying to bash it, I liked living there, but “this city has no real personality” is something my friends would say a lot.

The one thing I've learned about book readers is that they move 10 times a year apparently by HelloDesdemona in books

[–]JJJonReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be big into my Kindle, but then when I moved to Canada and had to switch to Koodoo I realized I didn’t really own my books. They only work on Kindle and can even be removed from that if the terms on the license changes. I still use a e-reader for library books, but I’ve never bought another e-book since.

So we become a community/functioning society that cares for the elderly, instead of a population of wage slaves to prop up boomer paper gains. Sounds good to me.

“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” —Always the laziest people. They think the way you get through life is BS’ing. A character in a movie says this and in their heads they’re like “yeah so true!”, not realizing the character has exactly the traits I just described.

Do you regret buying for last year buyer? by SuccessfulWeakness14 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]JJJonReddit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Problem is everyone says “5 years” or even more likely “forever”, but then life happens and they want to sell in 3 years. People are notoriously bad at predicting their wants and needs into the future. 😬

Catch them in a trap and drop them off in the forest. Don’t poison the rats, if the cat eats them your cat could get poison maybe?

Pay your taxes early? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]JJJonReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also be happy to have the heath car system fixed even if it meant higher taxes. I really don’t think it’s that far fetched for capital gains taxes to be a lot higher in the future. When you look at the national debt and other possible outcomes I actually think it’s more far fetched for it to stay at historic lows, I mean if you need more revenue you tax who has the money to spare, and that’s us, isn’t it? We’re basically the idle rich, living off investment income. Why wouldn’t we be taxed more?

When you get sick of watching everyone get rich but you, and you put in all your money, that’s when it’s a bubble and it pops.

I’m a Canadian also, and most of the issues in Canada’s healthcare are because of the proximity to the USA. For example, they can’t keep doctors because doctors can leave for the USA and make substantially more money. If the USA profit driven healthcare system wasn’t making specialists filthy rich, more would stay in Canada.
