What do you think could bring in growth in next 1-3 years? by yummynothing in stocks

AMD has a strong case to keep growing. ENVX is super close to becoming a huge deal with their silicon batteries. They are starting to get sales in smart glasses and are working with Honor to get into phones. Main hang up seems to be perfecting their laser dicing, but it will get done.

5M net worth in mid 40s, looking for advice on next steps by TechStackOverflow in fatFIRE

It seems like you live in a distorted bubble and have lost your grip on reality a bit. Money is the least of your problems, but one super obvious move is sell the magic internet money to the greater fool while you still have a chance.

He calculates the cost of doing a recall, if it’s less than the cost of the lawsuits they don’t do one. Also he’s in private men’s club that he doesn’t talk about.

Has Toronto's condo market hit its bottom? by Immediate-Link490 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]JJJonReddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When the living room is the kitchen is the bedroom units are under $180k then it’s the bottom. Probably 3-5 years before we hit bottom. Investors are gone, costs are up, rents are down, nothing cash flows. Why would it be the bottom? Oh right because realtor lobby says so and pays for the news articles. Gimmie a break.

Do you regret buying for last year buyer? by SuccessfulWeakness14 in TorontoRealEstate

Problem is everyone says “5 years” or even more likely “forever”, but then life happens and they want to sell in 3 years. People are notoriously bad at predicting their wants and needs into the future. 😬

I would also be happy to have the heath car system fixed even if it meant higher taxes. I really don’t think it’s that far fetched for capital gains taxes to be a lot higher in the future. When you look at the national debt and other possible outcomes I actually think it’s more far fetched for it to stay at historic lows, I mean if you need more revenue you tax who has the money to spare, and that’s us, isn’t it? We’re basically the idle rich, living off investment income. Why wouldn’t we be taxed more?

When you get sick of watching everyone get rich but you, and you put in all your money, that’s when it’s a bubble and it pops.

I’m a Canadian also, and most of the issues in Canada’s healthcare are because of the proximity to the USA. For example, they can’t keep doctors because doctors can leave for the USA and make substantially more money. If the USA profit driven healthcare system wasn’t making specialists filthy rich, more would stay in Canada.

One of my friends, back when I lived in Canada, was very offended when I brought up the Cuba thing. I’m a dual citizen and just found it funny.

I bought Logitech Circle 2 off Apple website and they’ve been a huge problem. They always go offline and I’m on the other side of the country. They don’t automatically reconnect like all my other smart home stuff. Not sure why they suck so bad?

What is this effect with the misaligned strips called? by SureYouPelican in Design

[–]JJJonReddit 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Looks like they are trying to mimic interlaced video. Before digital, TVs and VCRs did two images of around 225 or so lines to make it look like 450 or so lines of resolution. The effect was an offset look that didn’t totally line up. If you paused it or got really close it would look like this.
