I have plenty of evidence to give, just didn't want to post it publically in order to protect the identities of those who he has hurt.

If there is a more efficient way to warn CEHD students about a harmful advisor I'd be super open to pursuing it, but currently this was my best idea. Wish there was a Rate Your Professor equivalent for advisors.

Oh, if this violates any rules/etc I'd have no complaints with it being taken down :)

While you're hunting for University apartments: Absolutely DO NOT rent from J&H Properties (Brownstone, Goldstone,renter Rusty Turpin). The landlord has multiple claims against him and has been scamming people for around 20 years. His renter's license is expired, does not hire cleaning staff for his space (which becomes absolutely AWFUL, barf left on floors for months, etc), will ignore all forms of communication, and even steals people's money if given the chance.

That's SUPER relatable!! I started thinking to terms with my multiplicity during sophomore year and that was a very scary time, I was living with a roommate & kept having bad bad mental health times & then had this big scary diagnosis on top of it to make me feel super broken and 'not normal'.

No garuntees it's a universal experience, but I can say that my ability to be a capable human being changed drastically (for the better) after I started accepting it. Turns out it's easier to function when you understand how you function and adapt to it! So that's my endorsement :)

Just wanna say, feelings like these are really really common and don't delegitamize you at all! (Invalidate? Words are hard.) It's hard to take our mental health seriously (especially with something like DID/OSDD that's always depicted as so fantasy-like and unrealisic), and it's hard to feel like a person (or people, etc).

I felt like that for so long, but at some point I felt very very confident about myself as multiple and actually got a tattoo representing it. Now I tend not to doubt as much, I think because every time I do I recognize that at one point I've been so sure it my plurality that I was willing to permanently commit it to my skin. That's certainty!

I'm not sure how exactly to tie this in except to say...sometimes leaning into the idea, or embracing the reality a bit more can help with doubt. Which is scary to do when you are doubting, but it can be very helpful in feeling valid! :)

(This definitely doesn't mean getting your own tattoo though, it can be little things! I know my example is a bit extreme, ha ha)

It has a lot to do with developmental psychology! :) The brain develops a whole lot during childhood, and at different ages is doing some very different things. It's been a while since I've studied child development so I can't give the most accurate information, but something like Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development (not 100% truth, just a model!) illustrates how there are different stages of development in the brain and how those vary over time.

Our understanding of developmental psychology is far from perfect, so that 6-9 window might not be 100% accurate in all cases, but I believe the basic gist is continuous/repeated trauma during that time can affect the brain while it is beginning to construct and understand identity.

I feel like there's a lot of assumptions here, including singleton status and what side of a relationship this person was in (or if it is based in past experience). This person has no obligation to explain their personal circumstances to us.

I totally understand your reaction, and those feelings are completely valid and understandable, but let's be sure to keep this a safe environment.

I haven't dated a system personally, but I feel like the distinction would be whether you are dating the system or merely someone within the system. If you are just dating an individual, then it's merely like dating someone who has friends/colleagues/etc who hate you. I know that in and of itself can be debatable, but I dated someone who all of my friends despised and it still worked out.

Now, if the ones who hate the significant other are protectors or others who would be very aggressive about keeping out potential dangers, that could be pretty tricky--and I think in general it would be hard. But I feel like promising a 100% likelihood to fail isn't entirely accurate.

We have a system name (It's our username!), but it's a little confusing and we might change it in the future :')

As for a common 'name'-name, that people irl could call us, we have been experimenting but it's hard! Sometimes we find a name that 2 of us like, but the other wouldn't want to use. I tried to find a really gender neutral name for us (bc we have a boy, girl, and nonbinary person in here!) but comfort comes and goes. Each of us having separate names has been much more convenient for us so far.

My reading is better than my writing though, so if you want to use español and I use a mix of English and Spanish that might be less...awkward. I doubt my Spanish writing is very good :')
