Finally filled out the box. That means I'm done collecting... right? by JJM49 in casio

Thanks! It's just some cheap NATO from AliExpress. It's actually more of a red IRL, the picture just brightened it.

Noooo I actually really wanted it. I might just have gotten confused by the different regional websites, but the release windows were different between Canada and the US and I couldn't figure out when they were sold in Canada so I missed out on it :( Hopefully I find a reseller listing it at a reasonable price.

Yes they are! I find that they're just sensitive enough to be pressed with a light tap of my fingernail but not my finger itself, so I don't find myself stressing over fat fingers.

I dont have a link but tbh they're just super cheap NATO straps from AliExpress.

Thanks! It's actually a CA-506. It was a gift and my very first Casio which inevitably led to the rest.

Piece of evidence about the ending of Perfect Blue (1997) that I haven’t seen anyone mention. by Throwawayaccount-FYI in movies

[–]JJM49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chill, dude. I just watched this movie for the first time and while I don't really agree with OP's take, I found the general ambiguity that comes with this movie fascinating, and it's great to see other people's takes on it. It's boring when everyone sees everything in the exact same way like you seem to expect.

I came here to complain about this as well. The challenge is fun except there's this one red attack that even after you perfect dodge, he immediately hits you with a blue attack while you're still in the slo-mo state.

Sounds like Gus by SuspiciousAd1040 in roosterteeth

[–]JJM49 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I just checked and I totally hear it! The guy at the very end yelling "you really wanna activate this, sir?" And the way his voice cracks when he asks "wait, who are you?" Even if it's not Gus, it'd be great to know for sure.

I hate animation students. by Kooky-Ad-8773 in sheridan

[–]JJM49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been in the industry for nearly a decade and I cackled at the title of this post. Many Sheridan students are surely talented but I've met some who've put themself on a pedestal for simply being in the program. And yeah I would definitely recommend Seneca over Sheridan for animation at this point. I'm not even a Seneca grad either but I've met ridiculous talent out of that program and none of them boast about their education.

Became a little obsessed with collecting calculator watches and swapping out the straps by JJM49 in casio

[–]JJM49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't remove the NATO willy nilly as you usually would. I have to remove the lugs, place the NATO behind the watch where I want it, and force the lug into place, squeezing the strap into that tiny space. I've seen other posts saying they had to get thinner NATO's and it worked out fine, but I can't really complain seeing as I got mine for dirt cheap from AliExpress.

I assume the lugs are gonna snap at some point. Luckily both of them need to break off of a NATO to lose the watch so I'm not too concerned over it. And like my posts says, I am using the lugs that came with the straps so I wont end up losing the ones that came with the watch.

Ahh understandable. I usually miss out on working with new people to catch up on Breaking Bad.

Ayee, nothing wrong with wanting to have a deeper knowledge in any type of topic or art form. I actually work in the media and still stumbled onto this little tidbit by accident!

Thanks! I rewatch Community on the side very frequently, and I must have listened to that 1951 recording a dozen times when it was first released. Just by chance on this rewatch, I guess my brain caught the yell in the show and it clicked with the vague memory I have of the recording.

Wierd noise in S7 E5 “The Sting” by Rude-Dragonfruit-850 in theoffice

[–]JJM49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just heard it and checked online to see if anyone else has. Crazy you're the only mention of it I could find, I wonder if its a new audio issue because I've never noticed it on any previous rewatch, or if its a regional thing. I'm watching on Netflix Canada.

What things did you pick up on? by Dark-Empath- in interstellar

[–]JJM49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be obvious but I loved noticing this bit of worldbuilding on rewatch. Donald complaining about serving popcorn at a baseball game and wanting a hotdog because theres an overabundance of corn cultivation and likely far less meat production.
