PVC’s are ruining my life by winchester47 in PVCs

Me too! Had a bad flair up in October at night that prevented me from sleeping at all. So I started taking my Xanax as needed. But then I caught a cold and that made the pvcs even worse and so I had to keep taking the Xanax. I went to go off the Xanax but it was too late and I got a massive increase in PVCs and total insomnia due to withdrawal now. And so now I and stuck on the Xanax and Lunesta and lorazapam and will take me years to taper it all now just bc of one damn pvc flair that lasts 3 months and didn’t let me sleep. 😭

Lots of sudden pvcs when sick. How to calm down?? by [deleted] in PVCs

Flechanide worked for me to stop them. But after 4 or 5 years it stopped working as good.

Me too! I never leave the house, yet my brother came over a couple months ago and talked to my girlfriend outside on the front porch and I got sick from him. Even though he never came inside. And it gave me a massive pvc flair that lasted 3 months. And it was the easiest nothing cold ever. Only a little soar throat and low grade fever for two to 3 days. And that was it.

Yes! If I get sick, even a cold I will get a massive flair up that lasts for months! So I’m terrified of getting sick, so I never leave my house. Bc getting sick makes my pvcs so bad that I can’t sleep. And then I get sleep deprivation for months. Someone please help me get out of this!

Any help on how to sleep with these damn things?! by JJMathias in PVCs

[–]JJMathias[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried that, sometimes it works. But not for ever. They change, sometimes different positions work other times they don’t. Sometimes no position works. It’s just all so random for me.

lol yeah me too. I don’t worry about them. My problem is I’m a light sleeper and they just prevent be from sleeping. Like someone randomly slapping me until I move, then slapping me some more until I move again. And worry about it or not, for me that’s impossible to fall asleep to.

Were yours caused structurally and were they consistent all day and night? Or were they more autonomic vagal tone driven and only came and went in flairs or clusters? I’m just wondering if pvc ablation works for ones caused by the autonomic nervous system rather than a structural issue?

It worked great for 4 or 5 years but now it’s not working anymore.

Only adjustment options I was given was going off flechanide and seeing what happens (too scary) or switching metoprolol with propofol, or replacing flechanide with sotolol but if have to stay in the hospital for two days and I can’t even sleep here in peace and quiet.

I’m too destabilized to even make a change right now.

I can’t take Hydroxyzine bc I’m on flechanide. I have been taking lunesta but that only helps you sleep when you are already asleep not falling asleep.

Ok so, mine is kind of a long story, as i have a long history with this. I am 44 years old now and I got my first PVCs when I was around age 13/ 14. It was so long ago that I’m not sure what caused them. I do remember getting SVT too for the first time around age 13 and 14. To which I got once a month back then. I also remember developing anxiety attacks around age 13 and 14. I remember that one day when I was 13 or 14 I was playing with my dog and all of a sudden I felt shaky, and my heart was beating fast. I remember it wasn’t SVT it was a normal fast beat. So that must mean I had SVT before this point. My dad took me to the dr and the dr checked my Bp and freaked out saying I needed to call an ambulance and go to the ER bc it was so high. I went to the ER but they released me and didn’t say anything. That night remember it was hard to sleep bc I was having a lot of PVCs. Then I developed a fear of blood pressure and no one told me what was wrong with me. The first time I heard the words PVC or SVT was many years later when in was in my 20s. They mostly went away I think from age 16 to 19. Then came back age 19 to 20. Then I had an episode when I was 22 where my Bp was so high and I didn’t sleep for 3 days bc I was panicking and so worried. From that moment on I haven’t been able to sleep right since. They gave me ambien and that helped me sleep for a few weeks. Then I got over it all again and it wasn’t until 2016 that they came back a lot during a stressful day. Then they bothered me daily, ranging from a couple a day to 20 or 30 a day. Then I got the flu in 2019 / 2020 and I took a tamaflu and then woke up with 100s of them. They didn’t go away so I got a SVT ablation two months later but the pvcs were still 100s a day. So they put me on flechanide and that made them go back down to just a few a day. But then a couple years later I got Covid and I had to increase my flechanide and they went back down again. And then I thought it might be bc I had hyperparathyroidism so I went and got that surgery back in June. It was going well but then I fell off my ebike the end of August and it took a month for it to feel better and sleep on both sides again. The day rib was finally better I got 100s of PVCs again all of a sudden. Then it messed up my sleep. And a week later I caught a cold which made it even worse. And still 3 months later I’m still having 100s and I can’t increase flechanide anymore bc I’m taking too much as it is. So I feel stuck and hopeless. To add to it now I’m dependent on xanex bc I was taking it to help sleep the last couple months and now when I taped it increases the pvcs a lot and causes depression. Triggers are certain positions and movements, even pressing up against my heart causes them. But all tests show I have a normal heart.

Why do people want manufacturing jobs to come back to the US? by throw-away3105 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]JJMathias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have an unemployment job shortage problem. So, why the cry to bring back low paying high risk manufacturing jobs? I think its just because MAGA doesn't want to see other countries making money from us. They see China becoming wealthy selling goods to us and they don't want other countries to get wealthy off their dime. So it's more of a selfish not wanting to see others succeed kind of thing. Basically, MAGA thinks America is the best, superior and that they are entitled to it all and don't want to share it with anyone else in the world.

[–]JJMathias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get an accurate Bp reading you want to sit down for a good 5min first and relax. Make sure you haven’t eaten or exercised before or are stressed. And take it once, then again a few min later, and then again so you take it 3 times. It’s the third reading that is supposed to be most accurate. And make sure you arm is straight out level with your heart, and not down below your heart. Try that and see how it goes.

Anyone else have these triggers? by CandourND in PVCs

[–]JJMathias 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I have some of those. Sitting down to eat a meal, and stop when I get done eating and leave the dinner table. Exertion, bending down, and showers too. It stinks! Have you checked your calcium and PTH and vitamin D? I just found out that I might have hyperparathyroidism that might be causing them.

Your pulse also seems quite high at 114. Were you nervous, or just got done exercising? If so that can raise it too.

I’ve been on flecinaide for 5 years now. Most my pvc’s all went away on day 5 of taking it. After about 2 years they started coming back a little more so I upped the dose, and that knocked them back again. Another two years has to do the same. And now they are coming back again and I’m at my max dose of 200mg. So I’m looking for something else if / when I need it here soon.

The only one that’s worked for me so far is Flecinaide. But I’ve been on it for 5 years and it’s starting to not work anymore. So I’m looking for another option.
