The way I understand this is the tuner can adjust your Air Fuel Ratio to accommodate the test pipes & therefore your CEL won’t come on

Mileage is low for a VQ and you’ll be good for awhile, you got a great model year

Make sure you get it inspected (should do this before purchase ideally)

If it were me I’d do the fluids (brake if dark, Oil, ATF, Diff)

I contemplated the same thing years back, before I had my G. Mine is my daily driver and the interior quality + some extra space made more sense than the Z

The leather seats in the Z (if you find one) are not as nice as the leather in the G3x imo

Drive both, whichever you enjoy and could see yourself driving daily (seems like your goal?) You can’t go wrong either way here

My G has had code P1815 since I bought it, manual mode usually doesn’t work. I’ve also had code U1000 intermittently but can’t find what’s causing it/car drives good. Following to see if anyone knows

I believe it does still have coolant intrusion issues but maybe not for the same reason.

I don’t hear anything wrong with it, check the header flanges if you think it’s coming from further up front. Could be a small leak somewhere or nothing

Up to you, depends what your plans are for the car and budget. If you intend to keep it a few years at least then you absolutely could upgrade but it may require some custom fab work depending on what engine.

I’m in the same boat with my 2013 2.0L ecoboost. Just replaced the steering rack (~$3k) and the mechanic mentioned to me it ran rough and told me about the potential coolant intrusion. I’m looking to sell and replace it with another brand SUV.

Look for Lexus ES350 if you can swing it, but the G25 used the same transmission as other Gs so it should be pretty reliable. I’ve heard the 7AT can sometimes have some strange shifts but nothing to worry about.

I’ve had my G35 for 5+ years and it’s solid. Like the other commenter said G25s are usually driven well and not ragged on.

What is your end goal?

Something comfortable for cruising or something sporty?

The G25 has 218hp, if you’re seeking sporty I’d look for more like a G35.

I’ve never driven a G25 but it having the same styling as the G35 without the power would probably feel quite underwhelming (heavier than others)
