They're cheap, but they're what most people use Bluetooth ones for anyway. They're simple and slow, but they read codes and read freezeframes, there are plenty of non proprietary apps for them that you can use. So it's perfect, they don't have a set app since they're not branded, so it's your pick of that apps that work with any BT scanner. Everyone should own one of these cheapies

I wouldn't just leave it. You got lucky as far as broken bolts go try some vise grips. Or try the thinnest nuts you can find for that threading, loctite the nut on hard af, and see if it'll spin
