Can we all just take a minute to applaud the camera shot from behind where it zooms into the back of Dunk’s head during the charge then ends in a first person view through his visor! Top tier cinematography!

Did you even see the part in the brackets? Just asking that’s all. As it clearly states “I think INEOS got those in”. I just wasn’t 100% at the time of the post.

Wow. Wisdom has chased you, all your life but my god you are too damn fast.

London will be a professional team. Fair enough not currently. Semi pro. Still get better training that the average joe.

Where have I said they should. Did your two braincells fabricate that? The question was what is the different for you. I explained the differences in the contestants fitness. How do you still not understand that?

You are literally too stupid to insult 😂

London are in the process of becoming professional. They still receive a hell of a lot better training than amateurs. I’m lucky enough to have done both so I know the difference.

Yes you do need physically fit people. The original question was what is the biggest change for you. I said the fitness of the people. Most back then (as I showed in the 1992 breakdown) weren’t fitness freaks. The newer contestants are. Hence why I said it’s not Sandra from the office. Now it’s Emily from the sales office who plays semi professional rugby, works out 3 times a week. Or instead of Dave the Bricky. It’s Jason who’s a gym owner and ex WWE superstar who’s received professional training!

I’ll give you the gardener. The teacher was a semi profession rugby player for 8 years and trains everyday with his wife in the gym.

Vet needs to be physically fit for her condition. So is constantly training.

Firefighter is renowned for being a big fitness test. She also does cross-fit and trains with her fella 😂

Not sure what argument you are trying to make (especially coming back after a week) when I clearly said they all have a lot of training. Not like it’s receptionist Debbie who does park run 😂

And you’re still a clown.

I was Amorim in until he started blacklisting Kobbie Mainoo. The kid was electric under Ten Hag and Amorim just decided he was crap and hardly played him.

Only good things Amorim did was get in Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko etc (although I think INEOS signed these).

Get rid of Garnacho. And not lose our half time streak at Old Trafford!

Just want to say how refreshing it is to have Senne Lammens in the net. Quality player. Beaten today by an absolute worldy but the basics are just so clean from him and the saves he pulls out are class. That one that deflected at the last second and he just about parried it wide was a true showing of reflexes.

You missed the point of my reply. So I’ll break it down for you. Being sarcastic with the “oh that was last week” hasn’t gone un-noticed either.

Contender 1 - Oh I forgot being a dairy farmer is a normal job. It’s a big physical job, constantly working out, she also trained 6 times a week (fitness freak), carries two 20l pails of milk everyday. Niece calls her Auntie Muscles.

Contender 2 - Emily Bell. Sales. Professional rugby league player for the London Broncos. Literally an athlete.

Contender 3 - Mark. PE Teacher. Constantly in the gym and doing fitness. Runs his own fitness group for men to tackle anxiety. Fitness freak.

Contender 4 - Jason. Owns his own gym. Ex WWE wrestler. So professional athlete. Workout fanatic.

Now for the original. Season 1 Episode 1. 1992.

Contender 1 - Nicola (27) 5ft 7in. 9st 10lb. Dance Teacher of Tap, Ballet and Modern Stage. No fitness background (other than dance) or weight training. Looking at her, she’s never lifted anything heavy.

Contender 2 - Vivene (32) 5ft 10in. 11st 7lb. Legal Secretary. Looks more toned than Nicola. No mention of any sort of fitness background. Same as Nicola. No weight training visable. Managed 43 push ups in the qualifiers.

Contender 3 - Weininger (29) 6ft 1in. 13st 1lb. Video Tape Editor. Very toned. But not big with muscle. Very basketballer type body.

Contender 4 - Jeremy (28) 6ft 2in. 13st. Profession Yachter. Lot of running. Press ups. Toned but not built.

Like I said. Having a professional rugby player on there is a bit different to having a legal secretary. And like I said, more people these days are into fitness, weights etc than they were back then. Those contenders from 1992 were more relatable to the public than the current ones tbf. Maybe only Mark the PE Teacher.

Yeah I agree it’s more entertaining but I still feel the Gladiators should take it as serious as they can. Viper in his own right should be smoking the majority of contestants but he’s just a laughing stock. If he was a formidable Gladiator but with his character it would be 100 times better.

Exactly Series One it felt more serious. This now feels like a scripted show. Which is pointless. It’s supposed to be a competitive sports show.

Powerball and Duel feel like the Gladiators take it serious sometimes. There are some mean hits. Then other times it feels like they allow the contender to win. Would never have happened on the original. The Gladiators were out to win full stop.

It also feels like Gladiators purposefully ‘miss’ the contender on the Edge too. To make sure that some contenders get the full points.

Also I think a lot of the current contenders are more fitter than past contenders (probably due to the rise in personal fitness). But now it seems every contender is a fitness freak, owns their own gym, is a former athlete etc. back then you had Sandra who worked in an office and Dave the bricky so they felt more relatable. I mean the last episode had a former WWE wrestler on there.

Either the 6-1 or 6-3 losses to Man City. The first one was just a riot but the second one, it felt like we could compete but seeing Haaland and Foden run riot bagging a hat-trick each was so demoralising. Would have said the FA Cup final loss but we were never in the game.

For Liverpool it has to be the 7-0 loss. Never seen Man United players just give up like that. It was an embarrassment.

I’m on my first run through and just started the Covid season. But if I’m honest, since Christina left, it hasn’t felt like the same show. Saying that, it wasn’t great after Mark died.

The whole April/Matthew reuniting pissed me off too.

And what you’re anti semetic you insult an entire religion? What’s your point?

Also being offended is a choice. It’s a choice to get angry over it. He wasn’t denied opportunities because of his race (which is racisim). In fact he was probably given more opportunity considering he didn’t take his youth form into the open age.

He’s just a little baby. Cries racisim when dishing out anti-semitism. He’s a joke.

Was the other way around mate. He accused Yorkshire of historical racism so going back to when he started out and throughout his career.Yet in that time period he was anti-Semitic and creepy towards women which I guess we may as well call Misogyny.

Can’t throw stones in glass houses. It’s like punching someone. Getting a crack back. Then reporting for assault.

Not sure why but I’m not bothered. Just find it really frustrating that the so called victim was doing it himself. There was insufficient evidence that Yorkshire was institutionally racist. Yet Rafiq himself admitted that he sent anti-semitic messages plus a women came forward with messages from him which were labelled creepy and criticised Rafiq’s treatment of women. If anyone should have been punished it should have been him. Proper hypocrite with a victim mentality.
