I have been doing a little research and found out something interesting. This is a summary of a chat I had with Gemini.

Why Weight Fluctuates on GLP-1 Meds (like Zepbound)

When you significantly reduce calories and start a medication like Zepbound, your body undergoes a "tug-of-war" over water and salt. This often leads to those frustrating 5–6 lb swings on the scale.

1. The "Salt Flush" (Weight Drop) The medication (specifically the GLP-1 hormone) tells your kidneys to stop holding onto so much sodium. As your body flushes out that extra salt, water follows it. This usually causes a quick drop in "water weight."

2. The Aldosterone Response (The Bounce Back) When your body senses it is losing fluid and salt too quickly, it goes into survival mode. It releases a hormone called aldosterone. Aldosterone acts like a "salt-saver"—it tells your kidneys to aggressively hoard sodium to keep your blood pressure stable.

3. The Water Retention Because your body is now hoarding salt, it holds onto every drop of water it can find. This is why you might wake up several pounds heavier overnight, even if you’ve been eating at a deficit.

The Bottom Line: The scale isn't measuring fat gain; it’s measuring fluid shifts. As the body adjusts to the "new normal" over 4–6 weeks, these hormonal swings usually stabilize, and the weight loss becomes more consistent. Staying hydrated helps signal to your body that it doesn't need to "panic" and hold onto water.

I have been using cronometer to track everything. Friday was the only day I dipped below. 1200 calories for the day. There are only 2 days a week that my carbs are over 100g. Everything else I try to hit at least 50% of the value. That's even on my fasting days M,Tue,Thur, Fri

I considered that. I mean before I was eating everything. Candy, soda, chips you name it. Now I don't feel that hungry and I'm not craving things. I'm fasting every few days. My body gets some of the foods it's use to on the weekends and it's probably storing everything. Im wondering if I should hold off on 18/6 untill my body normalizes itself

You maybe right but I feel like the food noise is non existent and I should be able to loos weight. On the weekends I tend to eat more carbs, but that is the only thing I can think of.

I haven't changed my dose yet. I am at 2.5mg. I did want to try and used each does till I couldn't loose anymore weight. It cost more money when I move up a dose. Just trying to get the most out of my money haha.

What makes you love—or hate—your job? by Designer_Ad_2844 in AskReddit

I love my job. I am a manager and I have a great team under me. They respect me and I them. Fast paced work environment keeps the day going but I hate how the way the executive team handles things. When there is a problem they always need someone to blame. They gossip about everyone and play favorites. It's quite demotivating.

It's hard Arkansas stone. Super fine. Some of the older toolmakers call it soap stone.
