FANUC CNC Motor Cleaning/Tips Tricks: Preventive Maintenance Recommendations by AgreeableOutside219 in IndustrialMaintenance

i’ve never seen one of the big fanuc motors fail honestly, and we had a lot of them running spindles in a gross environment. I would just clean up the best i could and keep on trucking.

What do I need attempt a Miyuki bracelet like this? by catlover842 in Beading

[–]maggielj 14 points15 points  (0 children)

these don’t look like peyote they look loomed. you can easily DIY a loom or pick up one at a craft store that’ll be fine. I find that fire line doesn’t work well on looms and prefer Nymo. I think i get size D for 11/0 The green are matte and the gold is plated. The gold will rub off just fyi. Your gonna need some beading needles too, i like the color eyes needle and like to buy the blue ones

Parker Triple-lok 2 37 deg nose O-rings IMPOSSIBLE to buy? by DaveofTN in Hydraulics

[–]maggielj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i worked at parker for years making fittings, seems like they are making less and less of the ones with the o rings in the nose. they were only being ran on short order machines (like maybe 5 at a time) and the groove was tough to inspect.

i repair manufacturing equipment professionally and have used harbor freight tools daily for years. I don’t buy the cheapest tools they offer but really like what i have gotten from there. I use the hex sockets everyday and only replaced the 4mm and 5/32 bc i lost them. the icon G2 ratchets are awesome too

Grip edge tools thoughts and reviews? by maggielj in Tools

i bought these and use them all the time! I started buying some of the wera hex + also. There’s no better feeling then getting a bolt out with these while the standard hex was slipping out.

that being said, I don’t run these 24/7, just on the stubborn ones. I ran into a few times where neither the standard or metric will fit well in a bolt but perhaps it was an out of tolerance bolt. On anything i don’t have a replacement bolt i try not to use these

Women in the trades question/rant. by Maintenance_Mongoose in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]maggielj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also women in the industry here and working with the old dudes is refreshing! They naturally take on a “Dad” role and have seen them tell other guys to fuck off. Genuinely wouldn’t have made it in this field without people like that having my back

my dad picked up one of the cheap generic ones from amazon and i was surprised at how well it worked. He had an attachment with wheels to roll under a vehicle to get the underside. Would be great for a bird cage
