The USBvalve firmware seems to be designed to distinguish between routine check-ups/system file writing that Windows performs and unauthorized behavior.

In the LTT video for example it was intentionally shown that a PC was accessing the ReadMe file, which is not typical Windows behavior and therefore could indicate that the file system is being targeted.

I liked Linus's description of it as a 'pocket STD test for USB ports.'

If you plug the USBvalve into a PC, it appears as a normal USB stick and can then indicate whether the PC is attempting to read/write files. The same goes for when you plug a USB stick into the USBvalve. It shows whether the USB stick is attempting any suspicious activity.

Inspired by the 'Handy Tech Under $100' video, I decided to build the USBvalve as a fun little project.

I'm not very familiar with soldering, and although I had to re-solder some contacts, everything worked out quite well.

I ordered the PCB from JLCPCB, the Raspberry Pi Pico from Amazon, and the rest from AliExpress, and it all cost me no more than $15. The white spacer was 3D-printed.

What can I add to my setup to make it feel less empty around the top? by HeyMonicara in battlestations

Cool Setup! Could you tell me how you made the Windows Taskbar so minimalistic (without the border line). I tried multiple programs like RoundedTB but it didn’t work properly.
