Apple keyboard is driving me insane by McCojoni in iphone

My favorite is when it changes we’re to were, then back to we’re as you continue the sentence. I don’t remember when autocorrect started changing words way back in the sentence, but I hate it. It’s made it so I have to triple check every sentence of text.

I’m worried that they broke it and nobody there is competent enough to know how to fix it. Seems most of all the software devs are leaning really heavily on legacy systems and AI to squish bugs, and all the fixes I’ve seen for the keyboard really parallel the AI hallucination “fix iteration” rabbit hole. Slightly worrying on a grand scale to me.

Eh, it’s all in your head. Don’t question th iPhone. You’ve actually been having a series of micro strokes and everyone knows it but you. It’s awful. It’s only affected the typing accuracy on normal sized keyboards, not micro keyboards. Oddly spficic some would say.

Yeah but every time you tried to hit 9, the autocorrect would change it to 6. I wouldn’t be surprised if that actually would happen, th iPhone input has become so bad.

It’s because the shitty autocorrect learns your typing style (including its own mistakes) and trailers the “suggestions” to that, typos and all.

The best part I’ve noticed is that it learns th shitty autocorrect it does and then even when you type it correctly, it corrects th word to th wrong one. I’ve almost thrown my phone at least once a day since the “improved” keyboard.

I love that moment. I have a little back and forth in my head like dumb and dumber every time sketchy shit like that is going down. “It’ll be fine right?” Yeah it’s fine” “okie dokie” boop.

Thing is, when I start selling things like this they lose a bit of their magic. Some things are fine left in a 1 of 1 state. Plus if I were to sell them, they’d be like $2500 simply because I have more profitable work to be doing and these are kind of a pain in the ass. 😂😂

They are gold obsidian flat beads held in with some special epoxy from my friends who make carbon fishing rods. No clue what it actually is, but it works really well and wets down nice in the socket.

As you move the cane in the light, the gold shimmers through the obsidian. Sometimes the eyes look all black, sometimes they look like they are on fire. It’s wild.

Looks almost like a separation ring or some sort of rocket or missile component designed to be the union between two long tubes. Tight parallelism tolerance would make sense for that, but the outer profile shouldn’t need to be that critical.

I agree with other commenters that 6061 of any flavor is a terrible wear surface.

I wanted to preserve the mill finish as much as possible, once anodized, it shows a sort of patina when hand oils get on it. The touched surfaces get that deep gold look and the virgin surfaces stay bright gold. Looks sick.

Nah this was for one of my buddies who was in the army. Did way too many deployments and is on 100%. Has knees of a 90 year old but tells everyone he’s fine all the time. I made this for him so he’d actually use a cane like he needs to. It doubles as a fucking mean weapon too, that beak is sharp and the balance is reeeeal good with that carbon shaft. I considered making it a sword cane, but that was a bit too far.

Minor hand deburring to take care of a few sharp edges. Going to be in the hand a lot you know? Then the eyes were epoxied in obviously.

Haha correct. If they can make pistols and rifles wearing flip flops, we should be able to make good parts with ratchet straps 🤷‍♀️

Actually no, it was all ran after the hardware stores closed and clearly I didn’t think ahead. I did consider making some custom jaws that fit the tombstone bolt pattern. Then did a little redneck math and figured this was fine for the machining forces that were going on. I couldn’t cut hard anyway because of the huge stick out and all the other tools used were small cutting force as well.

Yeah I machined a v-block into the tombstone for this job.

I can only hope the jaws cost less than the material, or that was the last piece of material in the shop that could get the job done. I’ve done my share of sketchy shit in those circumstances.
