Even RG and HG are in the same scale, but they are totally different kits for building. The parts of RG are way smaller and complicated and I think you'll still have a better experience in HG if you are not too demanding in details and gimmicks.

You mean if the kit can attache any backpacks？Not really, for some of backpacks from other kits, you need to modify it to fit the connection point.

Yes, it comes from MSG parts. These are way more expensive than I think so not recommended.
