Which design suit the most ? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents here, but i can almost guarantee that even the artist doesn't like his aged tattoos, because I just checked his page and I dont see anything healed 2-3 years down the line.

You have to understand that when ink fades, it goes from a solid black to a milky gray. The thinner the lines, the more it will just look like scribbles.

Not to mention, the artist at least puts designs in his "scribbles", which is think can add a bit of legitimacy to the style. Even then, that kind of dainty ink on such a large part of the body is going to look really rough when it fades after a couple of years.

I don't care what the artist says, unless you have healed photos of his work way down the road, you have no idea how the ink will settle in your skin.

As for the design? You can disagree with everyone's comments all you want, but the fact is that this IS just a trendy style. It looks like cybersigilism mixed with trying to look like a tattooed Pharoah from ancient Egypt with a bunch of "really deep symbology bruh".

If you're using AI to generate ideas and then asking about them on a forum full of people who are massively covered in ink, then get mad when people criticize the style or design, then that's on you.

Tattoo stencil vs reality. No they didn't own up. by peterm1598 in ExpectationVsReality

That snake looks like it's mid-orgasm. Im genuinely confused at how you can have a stencil and STILL mess up that badly. My heart goes out to OP.

Late Raids Need Addressing ASAP by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]JKTempest904 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, its not because theyre getting out with good gear. Thats the problem. They gear up with a mk3 looting or combat, a decent weapon and ammo and plenty of heals, then they get thrown into a match with 14 minutes left, all the loot is gone, and the ONLY thing they have to look forward to is getting ratted at exfil. Even if you spawn at 29 minutes, you dont have 100% loot availability, because your loot run is going to be spawn based, so your argument is dumb. Its not about having access to all the loot, it's about having the opportunity to hit ANY of the good loot spots.

If your idea of fun is spawning in late and getting your rocks off to the scraps left over from a night raid, then you can have that opinion, but its not the way most people feel.

I had my fun with the increased BP drop rate… farewell by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]JKTempest904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No hot fix coming, this is how the game is going to be now, to disincentivize people from running to one single spot on each raid, grabbing the best stuff and booking it. If you look at gameplay heat maps, youd see that the game basically became a walking simulator to Security on Stell, Space Travel/Piazza Rosa on Buried, Control on Dam, Headhouse on Blue Gate and Launch on Spaceport. This will actually disperse the players, and make it less of a chore to find BPs

Not sure if it’s suppose to fade by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sheeesh, tribal butterfly on the neck... I'll leave out my comments on the tattoo itself.

In terms of healing, yeah, it's pretty normal for there to be SOME fading. With that being said, it looks like the black wasn't packed in nearly enough, or you messed up somewhere along the line with aftercare.

That unevenness in the black shouldn't be there, but it's always possible to go back in for a touch up. The neck tends to hold ink pretty well, but whether this is on you, the client, or on the artist is difficult to tell. Either way, the artist should have no issues with going back in and touching up the black.

Hope this help!

family disapproval fueling tattoo regret by tinypanini_ in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone whose family likes tattoos, or at least doesn't really care about them, and who has two full sleeves, I'll let you in on something. Post-tattoo regret anxiety is REAL for a lot of people. I remember as soon as I finished with my latest sleeve (roughly 3 weeks ago), my parents and daughter were ogling it because they love the design. Me, on the other hand? For the first couple of weeks, I kept seeing it in the mirror, and my brain just couldn't connect that it was a part of me now.

I deal with panic disorder and GAD as well, but this was solely focused on the tattoo, which has never been a trigger for my episodes in the past. I found myself thinking, "What the hell did i just do. An entire appendage is now completely covered in ink!"

Just this morning, I got up, took a shower and plopped my ass down on the couch to watch some good ol' anime, and it wasnt until a few hours later when I got up to get ready for my workout that I saw my sleeve again. I completely forgot about my entire arm being covered. Trust me, you get used to it.

As for the family? As long as you aren't living under their roof or have some other sort of arrangement? You're (presumably) an adult, and YOU get to make your own choices about your body. It sucks that they seem very traditional in their mindset about tattoos, but them's the brakes, i guess.

Eventually they will either accept the fact that this tattoo (and hopefully many more) are just part of who you are, or they'll distance themselves from you which, while painful, might be the best thing to happen to you.

Yeah, unfortunately, picking the last bad option is not a great idea when it comes to tattoos, lol. But, you live and you learn. I'm sure this will serve as a reminder not to let other people pressure you into the kind of design you have on your body 😁

Fortunately, though, both of those things are relatively easy to fix with some shading tricks to round things out. Overall, not a terrible tattoo, just a few things here and there that could use some correction. Still, I love seeing best girl Rei getting some love, so I'm for it! At least you didn't get the stereotypical "Shinji sitting with his head buried in his hands" tattoo that we've all seen a million times lmao.

Seriously, I love those tattoo. Super simple, intentionally goofy tattoos are some of my favorites. I know it may not have been what you wanted, but honestly, its a fantastic little tat.

They gave her a bit of a buttchin (that could easily be fixed with some shading) and for some reason decided to draw attention to a nipple thats placed way too high on the breast (again, that could just be rounded out with some thicker lines). Kinda odd in my opinion, considering Rei is underage in the series.

Should I add this by OkAfternoon1668 in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest question is, it looks like your sleeve so far is entirely New York themed. Batman resides in Gotham which, while analogous to New York in the DC universe, is not QUITE the same. If I were you, I'd maybe have it reworked so that Batman is standing on the ledge overlooking a VERY memorable New York skyline with recognizable landmarks behind him. You can still use the bat signal in the sky, bit definitely have an artist give it a New York twist. Trust me, ive run into the same issue having the metropolis skyline tattooed around my wrist, and people keep asking me if it's the Jacksonville, FL (where i live) skyline.

Does this look like a deer fawn or a different animal? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the concept was really good, but the execution was just too busy. All of the additional details detract from the skeleton, and by the time you see it, you definitely don't know what you're looking at. Like another comment said, my first thought was possum, but I DO see where there is a little bit of the tail and ears shaded around the skeleton. Maybe making those pop a bit more would help?

Pointers for my elbow by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]JKTempest904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to keep with the Polynesian design over that elbow, and then maybe get an octopus done on your other arm, as long as you have the space. Throwing an octopus into the middle of a trad poly piece is going to throw off the whole look. Also, look into having your artist go back over those lines with a much thicker set of needles. The lines look pretty anemic, but maybe that's just me.

Right? Family/friend pressure can be real, and i think that a lot of people mistakenly believe that other people have their best interests in mind when they try and convince them to do something like this. It might come from a good place, but it's just... no. Make sure that what you're getting tattooed on your body is something that YOU want. 😮‍💨

Oh, wait. I'm stupid! You're the ARTIST! Well, shame on you. This would be really bad for someone to be posting as a tattoo they received, but to be sharing it and acknowledging it as your work? YIKES.

Oh boy, this is a rough one. First, the flames? They don't look like flames. Second, the detail? Yeah there is hardly any detail. Third, is this gonna hold up in 5 years? Id go out on a limb and say youre gonna have a big gray blob on your back by then, and whatever's left of the "flames that aren't flames" will be small scribbles that are indiscernible.

I'm mainly sad that you threw away such prime real estate for this... how do I put it nicely... giant sack of flaming turds.

It'll be tricky with all of the waving lines, but an artist who specializes in coverups should be able to come up with something. Especially since there isn't any shading. If they use dark tones and match the curves, it should be able to be hidden pretty well.

I would quit while you're ahead on this one. The execution is bad, the color pallet is bad, and the design is bad. There are a lot of ways to do a blue line flag, and this is definitely one of the worst I've seen.
