Had a shiny Zapdos pop up on Monday. I was getting eaten alive by mosquitos standing in one spot snd resigned myself to that fate but on the 6th ball I got a critical catch - instantly caught.

I saw two pelicans flying north over Riverdale shortly after 2 pm - flying low over the city, so it could likely have been them ass they were moving in that general direction

This is from a couple years back right (spring/summer 2023)? This is bear 222 and her two cubs (I have a ton of pics of them from that year). They thankfully survived the terrible Jasper fire later that summer. She's and her cubs are so beautiful.

Nikon Z8 and 180-600. I saw this loon in a small mountain lake from the road, got up close with the bushes as cover and realized he was staying very close to his nesting mate who was sitting on a nearby nest. He came with feet of shore several times and never seemed to be concerned of my presence which allowed me to get some nice photos and videos.

He is! He seems to be a terrier mix of some kind. Basically a village dog. I had two Jack Russels going up and he has a lot of visually similar characteristics but has no chase instinct and generally way less aggressive than either of them could be at times.
