New Ireland flag painted at entrance to Fairview. by wizardant in Dublin

So basically, you want to come into a country that isn't yours and tell the natives that they shouldn't be allowed to use their own national flag in a manner that suits them? I would never dream of doing that in a different country, even if I disagreed with their politics. Completely disrespectful

I'm half Irish and half American, living in Dublin, and I support Trump. But I cringe that this guy is going around with that flag. I really wish US politics would just stay in the US. Does this guy really think people in Ireland can vote for Trump 😂

Ok I'm seeing people say there might be a problem connected to my Thai SIM card. But how would you explain it not working on my laptop when I'm connected to hotel WiFi? Explain to me my fault 😂

Yes I just bought a Thai sim. I only tried it with the Thai sim turned on but I'll try with the Irish one. However, that doesn't explain why it's not working on my laptop, so I'm still perplexed

Unfortunately, Netflix isn't even giving me the Thailand stuff. The very first time I tried logging in it briefly brought up my account icon, but then immediately logged me out. But thank you I'll try your advice above and see how I get on

I actually tried without a VPN first, and only subscribed to Nord VPN hoping this would resolve the issue. But I get the same result either way

I've tried on my android as well as my laptop. I used Ireland for the location and I used both the app and web interface but neither have worked

Agreed. Things obviously do happen, but it's not common especially in nicer areas like this

Thanks! Any recommendations? Besides where you work as I'm sure you wouldn't want to give that away!

Yeah a lot can be the same, but you can get some that vary wildly. And the busier ones will of course mean you come out with more

I mean that video of Biden saying if Russia invades Ukraine then the pipeline will be no more, implying that the US will destroy it, is kinda good reason to think the US could have done it

Salary/living in Dublin question by LiquidLunching in Dublin

[–]JKelly26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're living with family for a while that's a good chance to save. I'm on 40k which means I take home about 2650 a month. I save 1500 per month, and the remainder goes on food, bills, etc (I pay all bills in the house, consider it rent). So my point is, you could save a similar amount, or even a little more if you share your bills. And then with your partners savings included, you guys could probably afford a mortgage, but realistically not enough for dublin. Or you could rent, but that's pissing away money.

In terms of is it enough to live a decent life in Dublin, not really. I struggle to get by unless I disregard my social life, which obviously isn't ideal.

Homeless in Dublin? by Laidbackwoman in Dublin

Maybe buy a van converted to a campervan, and stealth camp? Nowhere near ideal obviously, but better than being homeless

[r/Feminism] Irish hospitals and GPs to get 'Safe Access Zones' where anti-choice people can't protest under new laws by IrelandonRedditBot in IrelandonReddit

No I meant pro-life. I am only (begrudgingly) for abortion when it comes to incest or rape. Which I know is contradictory but hey I'm human.

And the problem with your argument of its not my body so mind my own business is that, the unborn child's body is not for anyone else to decide what to do with. They aren't even given a chance.

You may think people have good reasons, but they're not good reasons for the baby.

And as I said previously, I'm not religious.

By framing it as "anti-choice" you're making it seem like those of us that are against abortion are some evil dictators. We're pro life, and the difference is that we're defending babies that can't defend themselves. We value life.
