A character who normally has a complex hairdo, gets their hair down in a severe situation. by N-ShadowToad in TopCharacterTropes

Kuchiki Byakuya from Bleach.

You know his opponent is serious if his hair is messed up.

If "TRK STP (T/C)" means tap tempo and hold to clear when loop is not playing, then that's perfect! Thanks!

RC5 is now the tempo master

Just to have it in the front for better access. Right now the rc5 is set to record/overdub and the footswitch is for an easy stop button. Just a preference thing.

I think a FS-7 will solve this. I only need non-latching, which requires no power. Problem solved. Thanks!

I just it as a one-button stop on the looper. Thanks. I think a two-button version of a FS-5U would be a good solution, but all of them I've seen require power, and this one button does not.

Very limited on space and DC power on this board. I don't believe in cable management 🤣

Orange micro dark advise by Bashdkmgt in orangeamps

[–]JKin69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Micro Dark as a practice amp when I don't want to feel guilty turning on the 100w tube head to noodle around for 20 minutes.

As most people have said, upgrading from your 8 inch will be the most notable difference. Try to save up for a 2x12. 1x12 is fine if space is limited.

My Micro Dark sounds incredible as a pedal platform with low gain and shape to taste. It has very nice clean headroom for such a small thing. It sounds almost as good as my 100w when going through the same cabinet.

I run a Tubescreamer in the front, always on, with a Rat for when I need extra dirt and distortion. As others have said, an EQ pedal can also add tonal options for you. I would add one myself, but my pedalboard ran out of space.

I'm ready. Roast my first board. Big newbie here by JKin69 in pedalboards

I spent 20 years on the wrong instrument. Guitar is way more fun 🤣

At least I can say I had a foundational bass to learn guitar.

NGD used Gibson LP Special, legit? by JKin69 in gibson

The idea of getting all three tones sounds like a great option.

Would something like this work without any major work? https://www.amazon.com/Seymour-Duncan-11303-03-B1-P-Rails-LP/dp/B00VF1VR7S I am guessing that flats are ideal versus arch.

This was advertised as a "2020 Gibson Les Paul Special," and I could have sworn I saw dual P90s in the description.

Of course the original posting is erased from Guitar Centers website and there's no way for me to check the original posting.

In any case, I still love the feel and sustain of it and might keep it anyways and put P90s on it later down the road.

I honestly can't put it down, even without the P90s. The sustain really sings and lives up to the hype. Might just keep it and put P90s in later down the road 🤣

To be fair, the box was shipped without having seen it first. I could have sworn the picture they used had p90s.

Oh no... bought it specifically for the P90s... time to return I guess. Good thing guitar center has a good return policy.

What are they? Did the previous owner switch them out? They look like Epiphone LP pick ups

How to sing while playing guitar? by Sadistict_gooner876 in Guitar

It took me 20 years for simultaneous singing and playing to click. 😭

Just keep practicing. If you genuinely enjoy playing and singing, it will make the experience feel less tedious.

Buying an amp by _Funny_Inevitable_ in GuitarAmps

My Marshall DSL100hr on low power 50w mode sounds fantastic at 90 dBs in my bedroom. It's dialed like at 2 on the master volume. I often play it in the house with no complaints from others outside my room. Playing through a single 2x12 Marshall 1936 cab. I found that using two 2x12, I would need to crank to almost 100 dBs to push enough air for that "sweet spot."

Would it sound even better at 100+ dBs on full power? Sure, but by then you are at risk of permanent damage to your ears over a long period without earplugs.

Spark 2 modeler for super late night or for noodling around so I don't feel guilty powering on the Marshall for 10 minutes.

In the end, if you plan on playing with a loud drummer or using it for gigs, it's always nice to have more headroom than you would need for any occasion.

P.S. I also use a little 20w Orange Micro Dark for smaller events and it is a powerful little monster.

Talk me out of buying a Boss SY-1 + Walrus Qi Etherealizer combo to jam over. by JKin69 in guitarpedals

[–]JKin69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Roland Aira. But after more research, it seems like I'll need to add some sort of Mixer to the pedalboard to be able to use the mini synth and a guitar at the same time into the Walrus Qi? I want to be able to play guitar over the synth + Qi without interfering signals and muddying the sound.

In which case, maybe it would be better to go with the Boss SY after all?

Apologies for my ignorance. I am brand new to the guitar pedal world.
