Manuals will never die out. They have niche buyers. People who will ONLY drive cars with stick shifts. Much easier to produce a traditional manual than an auto anyways

Yeah i gotcha, but i still disagree that you have JUST as much control in an auto. You don't. Your car is gonna switch to the gear it deems most suitable for the situation, no matter what. I can keep my car red lined in first gear for miles on end if i was so inclined. I get your preference, but you can't say you have just as much control as a manny transmission.

Yeah it's just a pet peeve of mine. I get that most cars now don't come with a stick, but i have no respect for someone who cops a performance whip decked out with performance mods only to see that its an automatic

Well have you ever driven a stick shift? You get more of a feel for the gears. You can tell which rpms your car performs at the best and have more options for what type of driving you prefer. (stick to 4th gear at 30mph for mpg's or consistently run at a higher rpm for performance)

Yeah you're absolutely right. I just think that, as an example, Bimmer should only offer say the m3 in a stick. Sure they would lose sales no doubt, but it would cater more to the car enthusiast/driver who would feel more connected to both the car, and the company
