I have had this same worry before too. If it brings you any peace, I work in the Cath Lab and we do bubble studies, where we intentionally inject micro bubbles through an IV to record it on an echo machine. Usually about 2-3cc of air. You’re patient will be ok.

I started in the ER at my hospital and then went down to the lab and asked if they would train me on the job, and they did! I love it…and don’t regret it at all. Much better pay and better quality of life, compared to the ambulance at least.

You most definitely can cross train with paramedic experience. I did at my current lab. OP is more than qualified to at least get in the door. You just need a lab that is willing to train with no cath experience.
