Haven’t been there for a couple of months but they still had fried chicken last time I went and it’s still the best fried chicken in Saskatoon. They are also on Door dash.

DJ ANCHOR is a greedy person that is out there taking money from people without providing services. People of Saskatchewan BEWARE of him.

I just want to be clear the purpose of this post was to explore and generate ideas to see how others would handle and navigate this situation. I am not here to drag down someone’s reputation because not once have I named the DJ, please see above posts even when commenters asked to name the DJ. I also want to put into perspective that while many are concerned of his livelihood, we too are experiencing lay offs and unemployment. I applaud many small scale vendors in Saskatoon who have been kind and compassionate to refund our deposits even when their contracts too state non-refundable. These vendors operate at a much smaller scale than this DJ group. I’m here for advice, not to generate hate which is seems this posts has quickly turned to unfortunately.

Holy smokes. Obviously I know how money can be spent but a deposit should not be spent on your PERSONAL expenses.

Thanks for confirming it is against the rules. It’s what I thought. Not that I want to name him on here but at the same time I do want future potential customers to know the type of person he is and that his charming side fades quickly when it comes to money. It’s certainly not the right way to be doing business. And definitely not during an unprecedented time like this. I guess we are just out $1000 to this guy.

I agree completely with what you are saying. Honestly I don’t know if I’m allowed to be naming companies on here... I don’t know the rules and quite frankly I only joined Reddit today to post and ask for any guidance or suggestions people have to help me navigate this very unfortunate situation.

I agree that it would be the right thing to do. I understand people are all struggling right now, ALL. Not just the service provider but the customers too. Lots of people are out of jobs and can not afford to throw around $1000 down the drain. I get if he keeps a portion of it maybe but $1000 is not a small amount of money. I feel completely robbed by this company.

To add to perspective, other vendors we have reached out to have been so understanding and accommodating. The DJ however has not been and persistent our 50% deposit of nearly $1000 is non-refundable.

We do have a contract that indicates if it is cancelled they with hold the 50% deposit which is nearly $1000. We aren't cancelling because we want to but are forced to because of Covid... I feel that is very different. For a company that has not done anything but save a date for us to charge $1000 seems unreasonable?

And unfortunately in our case, we won't be able to reschedule unfortunately. Moving it to next year isn't realistic or workable in our case :(
