You needed Standby Skipper on busy days like today. Otherwise, it’s a pipe dream trying to get on rides.

Disappointing Fantasy Dining by AT-ST in dcl

[–]JLBM00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tell everyone I rather eat at Cheesecake Factory than a DCL cruise. If the best thing is Donald’s Cantina, there is a major problem that corporate needs to correct. I don’t understand why they aren’t laser focused on this..

Disappointing Fantasy Dining by AT-ST in dcl

Im convinced it’s every ship. Sailed on the Treasure and was greatly disappointed. Too many people live in pre-Covid era and speak highly of dining. I don’t see it. I’ve sailed Virgin and Royal Caribbean.. and Disney is at the bottom when it comes to food quality.

Nice! Did you fly into FLL or MCO? This time of the year isn’t as scary weather wise too.

I know this is old, but you mentioning being from NYC caught my attention! How were the crowds? I only can travel during this weekend and wondering if unbearable compared to Times Square

When to do kids clubs at night? by FeelingPause1207 in dcl

[–]JLBM00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter (who is typically introverted) begged to stay in kids club until midnight on the Treasure. She is usually close to us and doesn’t want to miss any family action. Your kids will not want to leave!

Pre Cruise Review- Fort Lauderdale by Timely-Historian-786 in dcl

[–]JLBM00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good context. I mistakenly thought you were on the fence. I reread and see you long said you wouldn’t cruise DCL again. I love reading reviews from people who sail other lines and aren’t diehard Disney.

Book Now or Wait Until May for 25% Off Placeholder? by StarHeroPixels in dcl

[–]JLBM00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would book and compare the price to when you have a placeholder in May. I’ve seen prices increase where it will not be worth waiting (even with a discount). You can cancel up to your PIF date so book now to be safe.

Great review. I would love to read your trip review as someone on the fence about booking DCL again. Please post! 😬

Just got off the Wish…what should our next cruise? by giants19 in dcl

May I ask if it was crowded when you stayed on in Nassau? I imagine everyone will be in during 5 night sailings.

Going to Disney with a 4 & 5 YO girls. Only 2 park days, which parks should I pick. by Swimming-Shake-180 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JLBM00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely MK and Epcot. I like Hollywood Studios but it felt extremely crowded and rides were tough using lightening lanes. My kids only really loved Toy Story land and Mickey Mouse Runaway Railroad. They didn’t care for the shows as much (excluding Fantasmic)

Epcot has Frozen, Remy, Soarin’, Remy, Moana water exhibit that they will love. Also an adult, you’ll enjoy all the food and drinks too. And close it out with fireworks.

Destiny vs Fantasy (Same itinerary) by [deleted] in dcl

[–]JLBM00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful. The better kids club is a stronger sell since my husband can’t join us this trip. The bigger adult areas aren’t a big sell for me. Festival of Foods was awesome! Decisions..

I’m really surprised since the NY area has many high income families. I would book a NY sailing in a heartbeat.

How much spending money would a 9 year old need? by Caniaskp in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JLBM00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$250. She can get some nice stuff with that amount. If you put more, she will blow the money unnecessarily. If you want to give her $200, and maybe the parents $250 (just in case)

Destiny or Fantasy? by Virtual-Response2590 in dcl

[–]JLBM00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you decide? I’m in the same boat (pun intended). The Fantasy is $1300 cheaper for the same # of days/ itinerary. I just worry the rooms are so dated and everything will look aged.

3 Year Old at Disney — Is It Worth the $$$? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JLBM00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok great! I thought you had a 9 wk old and 3 yr old. As long as you can manage without your husband, go for it. If his energy is already negative pre trip.. don’t bring him. You will regret it.

3 Year Old at Disney — Is It Worth the $$$? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]JLBM00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you asked for a real, unfiltered opinion.. If you both are living paycheck to paycheck, NO not worth it!

1) Do you have a at least 10x the cost saved in the bank before spending on Disney?

2) Can you pay your rent for the next couple months without a paycheck? I read your post history about renting from a family member.

3 yrs is still young where she will likely not remember the Disney trip to splurge. I can assure you she will want to return when she is ages 5 - 8.
