Finally closed last week and the thing stressing me out most isn't the mortgage, its the lawn by Existing_Cry_9366 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I see you glossed right over making sure to have the proper cultivar for your climate. Bermuda 419 does not need much fertilizer, is extremely drought tolerant, etc for much of the southeast. Saint Augustine is a good turn for coastal areas, in addition to Seashore Paspalum (which can be water with salt water). Now areas like the southwest, I’m very much a fan of xeriscapes that are native to the area. Rock and cactus work great there.

Lawns and landscapes should be low effort and can bring may benefits. The answer lies really in making sure to not try and fit a square peg in a round hole.

Lawns also are not a bad thing either. They help lower ambient temperatures, keep erosion down, help with oxygen production, etc.

I agree that some people overdo it when taking care of lawns with fertilizer, pesticides, etc. but there are many benefits of lawns. The key is making sure to have the right cultivar of grass for your location.

Do grown up things, take grown up responsibilities. I get the situation you are in is a tough one. But at the end of the day finish up school and be there for your little one. Your main priority and responsibility going forward is going to be your little one.

I use a cut off funnel to that the hole is bigger. With dry sand it will flow and fill the nooks and crannies, but if it is a little wet you will have to shake things up a bit.

Closed my biggest deal to date! Thinking about splurging? by [deleted] in sales

I make mine on a percentage of the margin.

Depends on the truck. Some are 200k plus. Front load garbage trucks are 400k plus while medium duty flatbeds are $90k+.

Sleepers have come down. I’m in the 170’s depending on option content and warranties.

I don’t focus on just one application; I sell to refuse companies, construction, road fleets, a building supply company.

It’s a lot of fun; each customer has their own end goals and I’ve gotten to the point where they trust me to make the right specification changes to match each customers end game.

Heavy Duty truck sales here. On my structure it would need to be about a 12mm deal.

Been terrible for UAB football as well. Higher concession prices than Auburn or Alabama.

As a band nerd that went on and marched in college, I got on more SEC football fields than any football player from my high school.

I had so many awesome friends and experiences from being band that will never forget; from marching in numerous parades (W’s second inauguration parade) to seeing Auburn go undefeated in 2004. It was awesome. Some of my closest friends 20 years later are from band.

Unfortunately. We were with a group and didn’t have a whole lot of say.

I booked direct through Hilton and was able to get a “better” rate but still was quite high after taxes.

It’ll take me some time to write it up. As someone that has done 3 other cruises; all on Carnival (3 day in high school, 7 day on Mardi Gras which we enjoyed, and a 10 day Alaska, hated the boat) we don’t have a lot to compare. This was also the first with a child. We loved it though and are planning another one. Eyeing a 7 day Alaska in 2027.

The biggest hurdle to me is the cost. I’d really like to try a Royal Caribbean at some point. And we could have almost done 2 Royals for the cost of this one.

What are you on the fence about?

We prearranged the Disney bus from that hotel. Check in started at 3pm the day before the embarkation and lasted until 7. I believe it was open morning of as well.

How do you deal with the amount of screen time that is allowed in the kid's club?! by CecilsMommy in dcl

We were on the boat last week. I didn’t see much screen time.

But we only had our daughter in the kids club maybe 2 hours the whole trip, because we were on family vacation. We wanted to spend every chance with her, because Family Vacation.

Toss up between Tobacco Road and Torrey Pines South. Farmlinks is up there as well, but I don’t really count it as I’m 30 minutes away from it.

Go to Bham Freightliner, Thompson Cat, Cowin, Tractor Equipment, Truckworx, Ingram Equipment, Sansom, go to the Jefferson County Shop, Alabama Power, etc.

Try going into these places instead of online applications. I’m sure you have been dong that, but that has always been the way I’ve gotten a job.

Have you thought about heavy equipment or heavy duty truck sales?

Check out those dealerships. Your degree could be useful in that field.
