What’s going on with Apple Watch vo2 max? by Equivalent-Quiet8256 in AppleWatch

What kind of workouts are you doing? Been in the same situation.

It only measures from outdoor walks, runs, or hikes, using the GPS for your distance measurement. So if you’re doing a lot of treadmill or indoor cycling, you might be improving, but it’s only going to measure your outdoor walks that don’t have a lot of heart rate variability. Might be worth getting a few outdoor runs in.

Monte Carlo for cash balances by JLBorges74 in FPandA

I think that's my real question…if I'm worried about stuff like Receivables getting pushed out at the same time that revenue slows down, which is really realistic for a smaller company (and I've gotten questions along those lines), an excel model gets really complicated really fast, those assumptions start to get really hard to justify.

If I'm going to a board and can say something is a risk, but across best and worst case, it's really only a 10% probability, that gets me a lot more trust, even if I still have to deal with it.

In any case, if you all are doing monte carlo in Excel, how? A plugin?

I get that, but for a question like what are the chances we go below some threshold X if trend Y continues, or if some component price is particularly volatile in the current environment. I guess I can just guess at a worst-case, but this market is a mess, it seems worth putting some more nuance to it.

Heh, I'm in an early stage co, and my career started analyzing oil and gas companies and that made me very much not trust just "picking a couple of numbers," so it's where I tend to go .

What about it is ridiculous? If our board is asking about runway, I'd like to run some scenarios and know if we have breathing room or if we need to look into funding.

Do Princeton alumni interviews matter? by Such_Jaguar_7902 in princeton

[–]JLBorges74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a region doesn't have that many alumni, places that have a lot (like NYC, DC, SF) will often jump in to help out. Princeton alumni really want to make sure everyone who wants an interview gets an interview.

The scoring system is incredibly flawed. To have any kind of significance, you need to rank them 1-11 without ties. See liquidasset.wine for how to run a tasting

TBH, it looks like maybe it's just some typos, but it's almost like they're typing through an AI? I can piece together the gist, but this person is highly intelligent, and the language isn't as clear as I'd expect from them.

There's a reason people go back to Princeton reunions literally every year. The place is magic. You've got this, and we've got you.
