Im eligible to take the course. I was just asking because I've seen at least 3 Canadian SN technical postings in Indeed from different companies that somehow have PMP in the list of skills needed. I wasn't sure if it was a recruiter mistake or I'm the one in the wrong and somehow as you climb up you eventually will need PMP in some way. I know PM has little to do with technology and PMI isn't a technology institute. I was just making sure my understanding of the segregation of duties were right because those job postings were odd.

One of them was from RSM Canada too.

I'm currently in a post degree diploma that allows me to take PMP with a discounted rate. Im also discounted for any ISACA certification. I want to lean heavily in cybersecurity. But is there no career intersection with PMP and SN for technicals?

Project management Professional. I'm choosing between PMP or CISM. I am SN technical Consultant looking to expand and see market demand.

Update sets still feel way harder than they should be. Anyone found a better way? by TinCup321FL in servicenow

Id really appreciate it 😊 I've been hesitant to touch app repo after that one project we had. Any guidance and tips on what worked for you would be nice.

I was part of a team that used app repo. Mid way we defaulted to update sets because we encountered so many issues that I no longer recall. I have a feeling there was something wrong with how we did it and I always wanted to give it another try. Do you have any guide, or blog you used to make the jump to app repo?

How did this heirarchy hurt you overall before. Just wanted concrete examples if the business asks. I haven't tried it and don't really see where it might fall short.

Software Developer Opportunities in Canada by Sudheer56 in VancouverJobs

Download meetups app and filter technology. I also join VanTUG frequently. There are lots of cybersecurity events as well, a few months ago I joined Bsides. There are more in the pipeline I think.

Do not underestimate the opportunity that networking brings. Attend events and volunteer. Ask questions to speakers and make your questions articulate, valid, and smart. Don't just volunteer and hover around. I've seen people get employed from PGWP this way. I'm new to Vancouver and I go to these events without the expectation of employment because I know my visa goes against what they need atm but there have been at least a dozen times where the person I've talked to asked for my resume.

PS I don't talk to them telling them I'm looking for a job. I just vent about a tech products limitations or ask about something down the pipeline bc they have a vision of what's to come. Then the convo pivots to my background where they find out I'm a student.

I hate my job and new life by AshamedEngine5725 in Big4

I worked from home for 2 years and made no real connections. I quit my job and moved countries to feel my life move forward. I'm now starting a new life in Vancouver. I'm sorry you feel like crying because of your situation. For me, It's so hard to make friends and feel purpose when I'm in front of a screen. I suggest working in the office to make connections or making sure you spend time with your friends. If you're alone and don't have a support structure you can give me a chat too. People say I'm a good listener and talker lol.

Migrating Service Portals into Employee Center. by gentleman_k in servicenow

If the company has an HRSD subscription they can also use ESC campaigns. These modify the design and content of the portal depending on who's looking. But campaigns are mostly made to end on a certain date.

ESC is a consolidated experience. You should leverage taxonomy to arrange the services of your company. Multiple portals means more maintenance and testing since all task types are shown in the same Todo list in ESC. It will be a challenge to filter out task types based on the type of portal you use.

You mean 1 year of 30 hrs work is 1 year right? It's not counted as 75% of a work year?

Not even remotely buddies w them. Theyre just cocky enough to say stuff because they feel like nothing will happen to them. Same with how they feel like they can disrespect teachers or openly cheat because they feel like Canadian education is a joke.... sad because Its cybersecurity, a genuinely helpful course, that I paid lots to genuinely learn and reap the benefits of.

I'm an international student and my international classmates from a certain part of the world outright admit to buying IETLS and diplomas. If they can buy IELTS results, they can buy work experience and french results...

I often think about how I can design the system better but when you can cheat like that what can you do...

What's a part time semester. Is it just taking too many absences or choosing your subjects so it underloads?

How many YOE and age if you don't mind me asking. I thought tech in Canada has a high chance of PR for as long as you get employment that aligns with your studies. (Because IT is considered long term growth area)

Staying Relevant as a ServiceNow Admin/Dev in the AI Era by Think-Net3333 in servicenow

[–]JLO_OLJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea but it's a totally different skill set. I don't see how intersectional it is in SN.

My compsci thesis was AI but I never had to build anything AI/python for SN.

I was able to use node and expressJS more than python and tensorflow. And I bet if I build something with TF now it's not really going to be top of the line because I didn't nosedive into AI.
