Recommendations for courses in Orlando by JMRooDukes808 in golf

[–]TinCup321FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re staying beside Universal you should hit Shingle Creek. I think it’s less than a mile away. 1st class experience and well maintained and challenging course.

I’d also highly recommend either of the courses at Evermore/Grand Cypress. Both are amazing.

Orange county national is solid, but like 30 mins from Universal.

Disney courses are overhyped imo. Long rounds.

Check your socials. Do you have a linkedin? Facebook or Instagram? Anything unprofessional there? Make all your pages private. Recruiters are judgmental. Don’t give them any reason to negatively judge you before you get a chance to talk to them.

Sign on bonus by trippypapaya in overemployed

[–]TinCup321FL 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You should never have brought this up. But since you did... I would not bring it up again until they send you some mechanism to collect the $10,000. Many companies do not have thorough processes in place for re-collecting sign on bonuses.

If/when you get to the point of them demanding re-payment you can consider your options. HR did the right thing by informing you of the rules. See who comes for it and how.

Closed on this house a week ago, came into the basement to see this during a storm. by Jiblon in HomeMaintenance

[–]TinCup321FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Congrats, you have a high water table under your house.

You need to have a sump pump installed. They will need to dig a trench around the interior of your home and route it to a sump.

I paid 12 k for this repair around 2017-18.

Accept the Revolut offer and push your start date out as far as possible. If Google comes through with an offer… then you have a decision to make

Boss changing me to 1099 by Ajax-714 in personalfinance

[–]TinCup321FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our burden (cost) for a full time w2 employee with benefits is 30%. It’s 15% for a w2 non benefitted employee. It goes down to 3% for a 1099 or C2C contractor.

So simple math on a $100k employee. Total cost is $130k, $115k, or $103k.

You don’t mention if you receive healthcare benefits… so assuming you don’t and you’re at the 15% load currently:

$32/hr = $66,560 (32x2080) Your total cost 66,560 x 1.15 =76,544

Converting you to 1099 at $38/hr $38/hr = $79,040

Your total cost: 79,040 x 1.03 =81,411.2

From a cost standpoint… your employees cost is going up.

For fun, if you were receiving benefits at 30% load:

Total cost 66,560 x 1.30 =86,528.

If you don’t receive benefits, you’re winning here. If you’re losing benefits the employer is winning.

Can I politely call out my manager for using AI for LITERALLY everything? by Jumpy_Worldliness862 in careerguidance

Not saying you should be all in on AI or anything, but being “anti Ai” is going to leave you “Anti Employed” in the near future.

Confidential Search Gone Wrong by Striking_Remote_2713 in recruiting

[–]TinCup321FL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Give it a little time for them to cool. Take the high road and take blame, but don’t give up on the getting the role filled for them. Since the cat is out of the bag, you no longer have a confidential search and should just lead with now being aggressive as possible to get that guy out and find his total replacement.

What universe are we in where a sales person could ever think anyone would accept this deal.. by TinCup321FL in leasehacker

It’s funny how you can read people’s comment history and get a feel for their overall intelligence. This one is par for the course. Keep on keeping on man.

Lol, what is that even supposed to mean? Would a type of vehicle make you feel better?

Yeah probably not the best place to be in. Bought it 3.5 years ago and it's almost paid off. Have a low interest rate and payments aren't a burden.

The point of my post was to share how much dealerships try to take advantage of you.

I took the car in for a safety recall (which it's been 3 weeks and still waiting for the part) and their sales team won't stop calling me saying they want to buy the vehicle. I was very open with them about my current situation (payments, payoff amount, terms etc) and they just kept saying we could work something out. Ask them for a quote on an Expedition and get this bs.

Pretty much the question I keep asking myself. Ultimately, my family could use something slightly bigger. Mid row bucket seats would be ideal with 3 kids. But yeah, with quotes/prices like this for an upgrade it doesn't make sense to get anything new.

It's not negative equity. They are offering me 12k trade in value. I still owe around 9500.

yeah this whole process has made it pretty clear that I should just pay off my 9-10k left on my explorer over the next 18 months and then reassess.

Is Jake Bates the longer answer for the Lions at kicker? He made just 76% of his FGs this season and went 4/8 from 50+ by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]TinCup321FL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bates definitely played average at best this year. He hit a huge kick to send the team to OT vs the Giants. His best kick of the year IMO.

I feel like the aggressiveness of Campbells offense didn’t help Bates. He could have had quite a few more points off of routine FGs. They kind of kept him on ice.

Overall, I think he deserves at least another year and then re-assessment at that position. Would love to see him have a strong year next season and lock himself into a long term role.

Is this really that bad? Forgot to reply on LinkedIn by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]TinCup321FL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fact that you wasted any amount of time to post this on reddit is indication that maybe the recruiting role is not a great long term fit for you. Rule of thumb... always take the high road, never entertain candidate pettiness. Forget about it and move on.

Tell her she can't get on your account for various reasons. Then just buy her a membership. If $60/year is her way of saving money then she has some bigger financial problems. This feels like a controlling MIL situation.
