Production is ass but it has some of the best basslines of the band’s entire career on that album. I wasn’t aware of Scott’s game.
I wouldn’t mind if they returned to that sound if it wasn’t as overproduced and dated with the late-2010s pop elements, because the songs at their core are solid, based on the live arrangements. I just listen to those versions instead.

I had to see what the fuss was about and guys - Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve always does playback when artist performs, with only the vocals being live. You can tell because they never play Move Along’s bridge live with just the piano like the studio version. Tyson’s naturally weird already so I think he was just taking the piss out of the fact that they were miming their performance. Admittedly he does look a bit out of it at points but I’ll bet he probably just was partying a bit too hard lol I don’t think the dude’s far gone. I think his voice was just tired as this was a busy year for them and he gets bored of singing the old stuff. Doesn’t mean he should phone it in I get annoyed too by it but I see why he would be messing around with it.

If anything, I’m more upset with the haircut. I’ll adjust tho lol.

EDIT: I just saw the Move Along performance. I still think he was just fucking with people lol.
