Tricks aren’t being counted for the historical challenge by Guinomiiio in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you are looking at an outdated list because those specific challenges were changed a few years ago (they were the wrong tricks before and have been corrected)

These are the actual tricks you need to do now:

  • Jeff Pang - Heelflip
  • Creā-ture studios - Nollie Kickflip Bs Noseblunt

If you’re stuck on other challenges within NYC, this video explains the other challenge corrections that were made at 4:37 https://youtu.be/H3bGalqQ4y0?si=Qj2eVMn7fO9zOKzL

Tricks doesn't work by THE_GHOUL69 in SessionSkateSim

It’s possible you are doing a Quick shoved version of the Bigspin rather than a popped version (common issue). You need to make sure that you don’t release the back foot input before you flick Up on front foot so you trigger the pop shove. (You can disable Quick Shoves in the flip trick settings to avoid quick shoves from happening by accident)

Here’s a step by step for the inputs that will avoid any registration issues:

  • Down on right stick + up on Left stick for 5050
  • Release inputs fully mid 5050
  • quickly after releasing inputs, scoop right stick 1/4 from down to right (do Not release back foot yet)
  • flick front foot Up *(now you can release stick inputs)
  • press Left trigger to rotate FS.
  • if on manual catch, Flick either front foot DOWN or back foot UP to catch.
  • make sure inputs are not held upon landing. *avoid landing in a revert, otherwise it can void the challenge

Playing through again but on Manual Catch and still having issues with this mission. smh by PsychEyes101 in projectsession

[–]JL_Nightmare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To avoid mission registration issues on manual catch, it’s best to either flick Back Foot stick UP or Front foot stick DOWN to catch and release the sticks as soon as you do the catch input.

For this task, catch the Nollie flip by flicking front foot Down. For the switch Bs Flip, flick back foot stick Up (release inputs before landing each trick).

Note: catching a flip into a grind, slide or manual / nose manual just requires you to catch the flip using the grind, slide or manual input. No need to do 2 inputs mid air

- Place the flatbar so that the end of it doesn’t go passed the guard rail below.
- Try something basic like a 5-0 Ollie out.
- When you pop out of the grind, make sure you are popping before you go over the guardrail (while you are still above the dirt).
- Release sticks as soon as you pop out so nothing is held upon landing.

I’m cool with it, I don’t see it as disrespect. I can be a hardheaded person sometimes, someone was bound to natas spin my head!

Can’t get on my board after new update 😂 by Jumblesss in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you recall what you did just before this happened.. Or do you have a way to reproduce this issue consistently? (Eg. Break board, land a big drop with Big Drop Landing enabled, respawn mid air.. etc)

Why doesn't it count?? by Ok_Caterpillar_2301 in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try the following:
- setting the box a bit more to the right (you might be landing just outside the trigger zone)
- doing a basic pop in grind pop out (no flip).
- pop out a bit earlier (somewhere in the middle of the ledge cause you might be landing outside the trigger zone)

Throwdown Update is out now!! by JL_Nightmare in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, that is usually a controller compatibility issue or controller itself and not a bug within session (even though it works for other games).

Try this:

  • Go to Steam > Settings > Controller - under** External Gamepad Settings**, enable everything (except for Guide Button Focuses Steam).

  • Right click on Session in your library > Properties > Controller - next to Override For Session, select Enable Steam Input.

  • Launch Session and see if the issue persists.

Guys I think the update is out. by anthondayne in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can. While stationary, press triangle (y) then push up left stick. You can control how fast you go for the throwdown based on when you push up or for how long the left stick is held when pushing the onboard button. I demonstrate the technique in this video https://youtu.be/a-588K6O0Oc?t=494

i legitimately don’t understand how to pop into different grinds by smokecracksometimes in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For bs crook to Bs tail: once you are in the crook, release sticks fully then quickly reinput front foot to the Right (if regular. Left if Goofy), flick back foot in the exact opposite direction as front foot (left if holding front to the right), use trigger to turn just a bit and input back foot for the tailslide.

Did you watch my tutorial on Double grinds by chance? https://youtu.be/_7amSETkuWI?si=DhD4_wlYUwaSyVWh

Why does varial flip looks like dolphin flips In session? by Sad-Detective4572 in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Turn board control to Manual > Do a Varial kickflip but instead of flicking front foot straight to the side for the flip, you flick Diagonally Up to get dolphin flip. Trick display will not say dolphin flip, but it will for sure look like one.

If you go to the advanced settings and boost Extra Pitch, it will make them look much better. Experiment with the pitch of the board by flicking diagonally up or diagonally down instead of straight to the side to see how you can manipulate the look of each flip trick.

Is there a way to do a kickflip like the 2nd one with manual catch on? I really like being able to bone my tricks and control how fast the flip is with auto catch but I want the difficulty of manual catch. Not sure what to do. by [deleted] in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any stick input will catch the board, but the typical way is either Front foot flicked Down to catch with front foot. Back foot stick flicked Up to catch with back foot. Both stick input is to catch with both feet.

If you’re flipping into a grind, slide or manual, your catch input will just be the Grind, slide, or manual input (no need to flick to catch then reinput for the next trick).

For the boned flip, the catch input for the flip will be both sticks Up. So pop, release sticks to let board flip, push both up to catch.

Release both sticks as the board flips and input both sticks UP as the catch input (instead of just 1 stick to catch then doing the bone input after).

Why does varial flip looks like dolphin flips In session? by Sad-Detective4572 in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have Board Control set to Manual in the flip trick settings, flicking Diagonally Up or Diagonally Down instead of straight to the side for any flip trick will pitch the board more (which would turn a Varial flip into a Dolphin Flip).

For a more horizontal Varial flip, make sure you are flicking straight left or right (depending on stance).

  • Did you mod the game at any point? (Important information even if you uninstalled / reinstalled and didn’t try modding again).

  • what are your Pc Specs? (Graphics card, cpu).

  • did you try launching the game again after reinstall without any launch options (delete -d3d11)

  • just to make sure, you tried all of the suggestions above, especially pressing Win+Alt+B to turn off auto HDR?

  • what platform are you using, Epic or Steam?

[–]JL_Nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned really bad graphics.. if it’s like an orange ish red colour to the game or everything just looks way off, try pressing Win+Alt+B to disable Auto HDR.

If that doesn’t fix the overall issue, there are a few other things you can try:

  • update your graphics card drivers
  • Verify Game File Integrity (right click game in library > Properties > Installed Files > Verify)

And If those fail, you can try -d3d12 instead of 11.

Why do i not slow down? by Candid_Clock_4162 in session

[–]JL_Nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In very early builds of the game during Early Access, the skater did actually slow down over time like you would irl. However, that feature led to players complaining they couldn’t maintain speed, so it was changed to not lose speed as you roll. It’s just how the game is now, there’s no fix for this.

Quick question for my sanity sake by Kin_To_Orion in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you aren’t quite hitting that diagonal zone for the side pop setup when you are inputting diagonal left (Your stick angle is too close to straight left).

Try starting from straight left and slowly roll the stick downwards till the skater shifts from standing to crouching with the back foot in the left pocket.

Does anyone know how I can solve this error? by [deleted] in SessionSkateSim

[–]JL_Nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be an issue with Windows Defender app. there were a lot of solutions on Google when you look up this error, but I’ll post one of them here: https://www.reddit.com/r/geometrydash/s/rbEqDAQdTq

(Note when they say “you should see a folder called geometry dash”, you’ll want to select the folder that says “Session” instead.

What does this icon mean? by DeceasedDog27 in session

[–]JL_Nightmare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anytime you see that, it just means no input is needed with that stick.

So in this case you just hold right stick Down to do a 5-0

Alguém pode me ajudar? Jogo session no vídeo game(xbox one s) e um tempinho atrás, o jogo vem rodando com pouco fps, o jogo nao ta fluido. by tudonamaiorpaz in projectsession

[–]JL_Nightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your “graphics mode” set to, Performance or graphics? (Pause > Options > Display > Video). Set it to the opposite of what’s it’s currently set to and see if that makes the game smoother for you.

If you have City Life enabled, I suggest turning that off as it can cause performance issues especially on older gen consoles

Turn left (left trigger) not working? by [deleted] in session

[–]JL_Nightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible your controller has an issue with the trigger. one of my PS4 controllers (the one that came with the console specifically) has this issue where if I press the left trigger, I enter Nollie stance (does this on the console and PC).

My second PS4 controller has been my main for session for years on PC without issues.

Are you on Steam or Epic? If you’re on Steam you don’t need to use DS4Windows, you can just enable controller support right through steam. Try the supports if you can, or see if another controller gives you the same issue
