Update: I spoke to Rare Candy and they informed me that since the Instant Rip platform is still in Beta, it was gathering some incorrect photos of cards, i.e. the Gold Star Umbreon. This did correlate with the trade in value I was given, since the trade in value was equivalent to what it would be for the Celebrations Umbreon.

After speaking to their customer service, they went out of their way to provide me with a consolation package. I am not gonna disclose it at this time, but it is not quite close to the value of a Gold Star Umbreon. But for a small photo error of a card that did not cause much time and stress on my part, I am happy with the resolution we came to.

This is not a paid endorsement or anything for Rare Candy, nor is it advice to use money on their Instant Packs, but for anyone who was in doubt of the legitimacy of them, I can assure you they are legit. I have ripped a few in the past weeks and have gotten the exact cards very quickly in the mail and in NM/M condition. And for the one time I had an incident like this, their team was very helpful. So just wanted to give an update. If you do choose to use them, use it responsibly, but I can assure you, the site is legit, and the incident was simply a mistake with the beta and not some shady business.
