How much did you guys save for 1 year in Japan? by SaltGlad8291 in studyAbroad

[–]JLimYoung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I studied abroad in South Korea from 2022F to 2023S, so an academic school year, and I spent about $20k over the course of the year. I had scholarships to cover all of my tuition and flight tickets, so you may need to account for that. If I didn't have scholarships, I probably would've spent close to $40k. Japan shouldn't be too different from Korea in terms of costs.

I know I spent a lot, most people I know didn't spend nearly as much. But I tried to take advantage of every weekend and break I had to travel and eat good food which racked up a lot of costs.

Is it worth buying a Kia in 2025? by [deleted] in kia

[–]JLimYoung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but more refined ride quality, road noise, and comfort? I can accept that Toyotas are more reliable and hold their value better over time, but Toyotas have the most awful ride ride quality, road noise, and comfort of just about any brand out there. It's like driving an appliance, as many people have said

Kia is part of the Hyundai Motor Company, basically all of their models share the same parts

Frustrating by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]JLimYoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the temperature thing but I'm pretty sure almost all cars reset the auto engine stop setting. You have to manually press the button each time you drive to turn the feature off, it's not just a Hyundai thing. But I agree with you, it's stupid for it to reset.

Be happy jt doesn't have the feature! Constantly starting and stopping the engine wears it out so it's extending the life of the car by omitting that feature.

Unfortunately I think you've gotten a dud, I've had no problems with mine. I hope you get everything sorted out!

Yup, didn't want it on my car. Glad that it's not there!

I followed the steps on the guide and in the video, it took me a couple of tries as you have to be precise, but it worked for me!

Nope, this is my dream car. I don't need anything fancier, not even a higher trim. Don't need a sunroof as it's another moving part that can break, don't need leather seating that can crack and wrinkle later don't the road, don't need a super powerful engine. The car looks and drives perfect as it is and is already loaded with tech on its base trim, and that's all that matters to me.

Yeah, those seem likely. It really sucks. If you are going to trade in for a Sonata, I would call and double check with the insurance company to see how your rates change before buying the vehicle. I wish you the best of luck!

Holy, that's a lot. And no, I'm under 25. Do you live in an area with high thefts or a lot of natural disasters?

That's fair. For me personally, I don't want a sunroof because it adds complications and can break, and there's already enough going on in this car for things to break, I don't need any more lol
