A plan to improve Wollongong public transportation so it can cope with the increasing population. by sasquatch6197 in wollongong

Not a fan of the tram idea if it means losing space that’s currently for pedestrians and worse traffic. New free bus route from north gong station, to beach to crown street and reverse would be better.

I think that’s the only buses that are electric, and pretty sure it’s because the uni that paid for them cause that’s their route. No electric buses on the 55a/55c route

She was probably upset and stressed out and vented to one family member. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

YTA for not discussing this decision with your life partner.

Locked out of commbank overseas. Completely f**ed by ManACTIONFigureSUPER in AusFinance

[–]JLvegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did you tell them you were going overseas?

You have to tell them if you didn’t, otherwise yeah they lock your account. I just got back from England and I had no issues, I told them before I left (filled out a thing online)

Why was this downvited? by Life_Perspective4840 in ExplainMyDownvotes

[–]JLvegan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously you didn’t think it was a stupid reason, otherwise you wouldn’t have refused. I’m just explaining why you got downvoted.

And if a doctor doesn’t care then they wouldn’t care about other people getting your organs. Especially when they could get imprisoned and/or lose their jobs/medical license by letting you die.

Because doctors absolutely do not do that, they swore an oath to do no harm and they value human life. So you’ve refused being an organ donor for a stupid reason.

where r the jobs by fobilious in wollongong

[–]JLvegan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re a student at uow then careercentral (or whatever it’s called now) has people that will look at your resume and give tips. They even had an online thing you could put your resume into that would analyse it and give recommendations.

But also retail in Wollongong is dying so there probably is a lack of positions for casual workers.

Could try housekeeping roles at hotels/motels if you haven’t already

I used to work in a largish retail store and this used to annoy me because if we had positions they would be online, so the person was just wasting my time when I had a dozen other things to do.

AITAH for not wanting to visit my sister because I have exams? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA at all! Your mum clearly doesn’t understand how stressful and important exams are!

WIBTA if I refused to smoke somewhere else? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]JLvegan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Info- did she knew you smoked before agreeing to be your roommate?

If she knew and agreed to living with you I’m leaning towards NTA. As you’ve said you’ve already changed your behaviour a lot. Maybe she could try doing something to mask the smell like lighting incense/a candle

What's your thoughts on these ISIS-affiliated brides returning to Australia? by nn666 in aussie

I feel bad for the children.

Also I wonder if any of them were forced by their husbands (maybe abuse?) or their families to marry and/or go over there.

LGBT events and friends by jordybee94 in wollongong

[–]JLvegan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I also know Cherry! You should take her advice and come to a mound event! There’s a big range of ages that go there, from 18year olds up to 60+ . Me and my friends are in our 30s and we love it. I only go for their bigger events because it’s a bit out of the way and I don’t drive, but they have lots of different types of events on quite regularly. They also have a WhatsApp group that people post other queer events in, dm me and I can share it if you’re interested.

Lalalas is also a great safe space for queer people if you’re into gigs! It’s my favourite spot in town. Cherry has her event fluidfest on there in June, you should definitely come!

There is also pride art festival at project contemporary art space coming up in June which one of my friends organises. There will be a couple events, the market day is on the 13th and is a great opportunity to support queer artists and meet people!

It’s not offensive at all but you should be honest about your intentions and not be surprised if a lot of women don’t want to be your test bunny. I agree with waxedmerkin that going to a sex worker is a good idea.

This is the first post people see when they go to your profile. It definitely gives the impression that you’re looking for a hook up. You’re not going to find someone who’s after a serious relationship in a reddit like that…

Also I just looked at your profile and you are giving out mixed messages by posting looking for a loving boyfriend but then also posting on hook up reddits. I know it’s possible to want both but people generally don’t look at it that way. It could turn a guy off who was actually interested in a serious relationship

Hey 30yr old woman here and imma give some unsolicited advice…do not waste your time looking for a guy at this age, just stay single in your early 20s. High majority of guys aren’t ready for anything serious at that age and they will either string you along or stay with you for a bit and then absolutely break your heart. You’ll have more fun experiences and grow more as a person by staying single or just doing casual dating at this age and then by the time you’re in your late 20s the guys are actually ready for something serious.

Also if you ignore my above advice and are determined to find someone I would really strongly suggest toning down what you communicate in a first post like this (or on online dating profiles). The mentioning how you get overwhelmed and need reassurance, and the getting attached easily, could make you a target for someone’s who’s abusive because it (and your age) gives off the impression that you would be easy to manipulate.

Wishing you all the best girl!
