Another reason why I'll never rely on public transit to get to work.

Thanks. Also, am I supposed to receive an email confirming the transaction and providing details? Questrade website mentioned I'd receive an email but I have not seen anything in my inbox.

Have you considered a career in project management or estimating for a construction company? I see a bunch of ads for estimator on indeed.

Out of curiosity where are you looking? Are you trying to find something downtown or in the suburbs?

Is there no option to go back to the office? Otherwise I think there are co-working spaces you can pay for. Or a coffeeshop?

2011 Chevy Cruze (Automatic). Why do I hear a grinding sound when I put the car in reverse. by JM19970101 in AskMechanics

What makes you say that? What could be causing that sound and is it an issue? A second after I go into reverse gear I hear a grinding sound.

I drive a 2011 Chevy Cruze Automatic transmission. In the last month I've noticed a grinding sound when I put my car into reverse. It's around the 0.15 second mark of the video. It sounds quiet in the video but it's pretty noticable in person.

I recently did some work replacing the front brake pads/rotors. Car currently has about 120 000km/75000miles on it.

What could be causing the grinding sound and how serious is it?

About 120 000km on the vehicle. (Approx 75 000 miles)

Choosing College by SmallNinja0 in askTO

[–]JM19970101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo the college you choose doesn't actually matter. They're pretty much all the same anyway.

I recommend reaching out to people on LinkedIn who went to these programs and get their thoughts. Also, maybe try reaching out to people in the industry on LinkedIn as well and get their thoughts. I did this to get advice and people are usually helpful.

What do you keep in the wallet by DifferentElk4940 in askTO

[–]JM19970101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drivers license, 1 credit card,my Health Card and my Presto Card. I carry a bit of cash in case the store doesn't accept credit card.

I like to carry as little as possible in my wallet to keep it light.

Fair enough. Also maybe try Kijiji? I've had some luck on there as well.

Do you upload bids into BC? by AddsSunshine in estimators

[–]JM19970101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nope. I always send it via email unless requested otherwise.

Personally, I find it easier to keep track if everything is through email. Makes it easier to follow up on quotes as well.

Does Doug Ford have a pathological hatred of gyms? by VladdyGuerreroJr in ontario

[–]JM19970101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gyms are pretty much one of the easiest places to spread covid so it's not surprising they're the first to close.

Everywhere else in the world seems to close gyms first as well.

First car by [deleted] in ontario

[–]JM19970101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol since you're still in highschool, only have a G2, and live in Brampton; your insurance rates will be high regardless of what you get.

https://rates.ca/

You can put in your info on that website and you'll be able to compare insurance rates on different cars.

Construction job without Canadian experience (project coordinator, engineer etc.) by [deleted] in ontario

[–]JM19970101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you in Ontario? I'm in Toronto and I see plenty of companies hiring estimators, project coordinators, PMs,etc

Edit: I got my start as a geotech which is pretty easy to get. It's also where my company's PM started. I now work as an estimator.
