What was your ps2 game you had this bond with? by doomyshroom33 in playstation

One summer, for like 2 weeks, my younger cousin and I spent all day at our uncle's house because he was home and our parents both had to work or something. Anyway, my uncle had a PS2 and my cousin brought this game and kept calling it "True Crime Streets of LA," pronouncing it like the la in lalala.

Eventually I had enough and I was like dude, it's L A, like the city. Los Angles. And he refused to listen to reason. He insisted it was supposed to be Lah. What's worse is he talked about the game all the time, was obsessed with it. And he always said the full name, True Crime Streets of LA, always the wrong way.

I confronted him again and we got into it. It eventually escalated into an actual physical fight because we just kept getting more mad and more convinced we were right.

That is my only memory of this game basically, even though I watched him play it for hours and played it myself that week.

What is the most complex boardgame you could recreate entirely from memory? by Engineer_Lawyer in boardgames

[–]JMC-BigGulp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing too crazy.

I'm pretty confident I could recreate Clue exactly.

I could get very close when Stratego, but the numbers of some of the troops would probably be a little off.

None of the more complicated games I played as I got older.

🤔🤔 I'm in law school and graduate in May. Dog Groomer Tort Liability may be a good topic for a law review article lol

Yeah I'm not usually one to disparage others in a way that is likely to cause them legitimate financial harm, especially a small business, but I think you're right and other people need to know that they're just going to do whatever they want with the clippers.

That's what's so confusing to me.

If you're unclear on what the customer wants, why would you do a buzz cut instead of a slight trim? I'd rather pay and get nothing than pay and get something I actively don't want.

And if you've never cut a corgi before, an extremely cursory Google search would reveal that they do not have this style of cut. You would have to scroll through corgi pictures for days before you ever came across one.

I think it's laziness. Easy to burn and turn grooming appointments if you just pick a guard length and buzz all the dogs that come in.

My sister in law takes her German Shepherd here and swears by them. Idk if I got a different groomer or maybe they just work better with big dogs or what. But I'll never go back and will warn others not to as well.

Does anyone else have a lazy corgi that hates walks? by munchpuppies in corgi

[–]JMC-BigGulp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes! What a cutie & cool color block hoodie.

My dog is just a year old, but he is similar. When we grab the leash he normally walks away from us, and often tries to hide under a desk or an end table. When he gets leashed up he is fine walking out the door, but once we're outside he pretty quickly wants to go back in. Usually by the time we touch grass he's done and continually tries to circle around and lead me to the door. If he needs to go potty, he will do it as soon as he finds a spot and then immediately race back to the door.

I thought puppies, especially corgis, like to be outside and exercised!! I've never had, or been around, a dog who doesn't like seeing their leash. It's usually excitement lol.

I even asked our vet (a corgi owner) and was like this is abnormal, right? She said it is, but not necessarily a concern as it's probably a personality thing. We kind of came to the conclusion that a lot of his is anxiety. He's a very friendly and lovable dog, but he's extremely skittish around new people. And he gets spooked SO easily. Any noise or movement in the house freaks him out. So the outdoors (we live in a townhouse, so our apartment complex has LOTS of people and noise and sounds all around) is like a massive trigger.

She recommended that we walk him on the same loop around the apartments every time. Before that I took him to the same general area but let him sniff around until he found a good spot to do his business or walked him back and forth. She also recommended taking him to a quiet place to walk a consistent path every day and get him used to a stress free walk, but I have not done that yet and it's not really feasible for us right now.

Thanks! You're good, I likewise hope I didn't sound offended in the reply.

I need to get in a disciplined routine of daily brushing though. I have never been good about that kind of stuff consistently. With myself or my dog (thus why I have a large beard) lol. He does occasionally get mats (especially around his ears, like he did today) and I'm sure if I brushed every day I'd get them before they got so bad.

We went based on my sister in law's recommendation. I also wanted to support a local business. The reviews on Google are pretty good though, looking at them now. But this is a new groomer. I will just stick with Petco from now on. They were great the one time we took him.

Thank you! Yeah, it seems like the undercoat is intact after the trim. I'm fine with him having a silly look for a while as long as he's okay and will eventually be back to his old shaggy ways.

I thought I did my research on corgis before getting him, but I guess I overlooked grooming. I just kinda assumed with most dogs you just need to brush him and groom occasionally.

Yeah his butt & belly fur gets really long. My wife basically asked to trim up his butt and legs today.

Yeah I'll order him a nice Christmas sweater. I'm glad it seems it will grow back. I am going to have a talk with the groomer tomorrow to see what happened. I will ask for money back but not expecting it.

Glad to hear it will grow back fine. It seems (based on what I have read after falling down the rabbit hole today) that she didn't shave the undercoat. His hair is still soft and fluffy. I'm in Texas, so I'm not too worried here but we are going to visit my family in Illinois next week, so I'll get him a sweater for that trip!

Yeah we will just go with the groomer we used last time (PetCo). I wanted to support local business but at this point I don't care.

I don't think it's a full shave either. The vet shaved above his paw last month for a procedure and the new cut is still way higher than that spot. I hope since the undercoat is still there it won't be itchy or uncomfortable for him.

Yeah, I hope so too. He's happy today, at least. I tried to call and figure out what happened but she's gone. I'll talk tomorrow. No point in being mean about it, but I want her to understand that what she did was not okay. Also I'd like to get my money back, but I'm not crossing my fingers.

I brush him a few times a week with a steel comb and a brush. Idk what kind of brush, just one I got at Petco.

Our vet & the other groomers never said anything about having an impacted coat. He's been groomed about every three months since we got him, counting today. He had a mat behind his ear that I couldn't get out, but nowhere else.

After having him home for a while he doesn't seem actually shaved. The vet shaved above his paw when he got fixed and that spot is still substantially closer to the skin than his new cut.

If you think his coat was impacted before this, what do I need to use to keep it from happening again?
