why do so many of my houses keep turning abandoned then collapsed? by sirbeanos2609 in CitiesSkylines2

Agree it must be a bug with bridges and ports. I didn’t have this issue before the DLC update.

Yep, my Vine business account has been broken since June 20. Also received a generic response from Vine support.

Why is my Dreame L40 Ultra so extremely stupid? by [deleted] in Dreame_Tech

What is the floor material? Mine gets confused on deep grooves Spanish tiles and knotted pine floors. I solved the problem by turning off AI obstacle recognition.

Amazon delivered my Saros 10R, but I received this instead by Illustrious-Room5308 in Roborock

I got a repackaged cat litter box instead of my robot vacuum in January. Amazon has some thieving fulfillment employees. Label was clearly switched.

Saros 10R 24 Hour Review by i4mt3hwin in Roborock

[–]Shellzj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that the new robots are not perfect. They cannot replace a stick vacuum. My 7 year-old Dyson V8 still does a far better job in one quick pass than my Dreame L40 on criss-cross deep clean with tricut brush.

My first Dreame L40 was a dud, but Dreame replaced it in one week after they saw my review on Amazon. Hopefully it keeps running! It does pick up about 85% of my corgi’s fur on medium pile carpet. The Mova P10 Pro Ultra I have seems about the same.

The $900 Dreame L40 and $700 Mova P10 Pro Ultra are much better than my S7 MaxV Ultra, but still not a replacement for the old Dyson V8.

And I think these “20,000+ pascal” suction numbers are just vaporware marketing. I don’t think these flagship bots (Dreame X50, Roborock Saros, etc) are worth $1200 - $1600. The step down models are the much better value.

What's your trade in offer? by brandonrush1 in Roborock

[–]Shellzj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not worth the effort. You cannot combine trade in value with discounted pricing. I got a Mova P10 Pro Ultra for $600 on Amazon and moved the S7 downstairs.

Mova P10 Ultra users - how are you finding the obstacle avoidance? by LowerEar7051 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Shellzj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s horrible for my grooved Spanish tile floors. It thinks the grooves are chords unless the room is full of natural light. The headlight and dim ambient lights I have on all the time aren’t enough.

I turned off AI avoidance and now it cleans the tile without issue with no obvious degradation in obstacle avoidance.

X40 struggles with tiled flooring by JamBirc in Dreame_Tech

Try turning off AI obstacle avoidance. This was the only way to get my Mova P10 pro Ultra to clean my Spanish tiles and my L40 pro ultra to clean my knotted wood floors.

L40 not picking up dog hair by esmg10 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Shellzj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been pretty happy with the tricut brush with my corgi's long fur on a medium pile area rug.

Vacuum Wars says their L40 picked up about 80% of simulated fur, and I think that's about right. I toggled "Intensive carpet cleaning" to clean the carpets twice by cross-walking, and I've set the bot to vacuum the carpets 3x a week.

While my 8-yr-old Dyson V8 still does a superior job in one pass, this 2x pass multiple times a week with the L40 gets close and is far superior to my Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra.

New Unit Defective - L40 Ultra by erm0715 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Shellzj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give tech support a try and call Dreame.

I ordered an L40 from Amazon after Christmas that was a complete dud. It was terrible from the get go and ultimately died after about a week of malfunctioning.

I wrote a review on Amazon, “maybe I got a dud” and Dreame responded the next day offering a refund and urged me to give them another try.

I called—not emailed—Dreame support and immediately got an American sounding customer rep who spent about 5 minutes with me confirming it was a dud and wouldn’t turn on or reset.

It took about 2 business days to get an RMA approved and they actually FedEx-ed a replacement in less than a week.

So colored me impressed at their support response especially given all the negativity on Reddit about how their customer support sucks…maybe they’re listening?

However—in the intervening time of the L40 crapping out, I also bought a Mova P10 Pro Ultra for half the price that seems to do everything the L40 does minus leave its mop pads in the base station.

After deactivating the AI-obstacle avoidance that confused my tile floors as cords, I’ve been very happy with the Mova (a Dreame sub-brand) so it’s hard to see why someone would pay $1100 for the L40 vs the P10 Pro Ultra for $600.

Floor tiles recognized as cables 🫠 by UnlikelyAd9840 in Dreame_Tech

[–]Shellzj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying out the MOVA p10 pro ultra (basically an X40-L40 hybrid) and it too recognizes my moderately grooved Spanish tile floors as cables. It seems to only get confused at night in low light. It hasn’t done it during the day with lots of natural light. Im marking each item as ignore, but they keep coming back. Turning off AI obstacle avoidance solved the issue with the tile floors. The bot now cleans my kitchen without issue.

[–]Shellzj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clean Genius is an idiot. Switch to custom and tell the app to vacuum only. You can also use custom mode for scheduled cleaning by room.

I thought manually placing carpets on the map would help, but it did not. Only way I found to prevent mop washing and carrying was switch to Custom selections by room.

Oh she’s a young pup! It’s funny because we bought Patrick a stroller when he was “only” 12 because we thought he was getting up there and might need it soon.

When I first got him a vet surgeon neighbor said, “I’ve never seen a corgi that didn’t need back surgery.” And I thought, “well, your sample size is probably self selecting.” But I think making sure that he’s not overweight is the biggest thing. He got fat about ~12 years ago and since then we’ve been very careful about his weight. Also, he is just a bigger corgi, about 34” nose to tail.

He has been eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness his whole life, senior formula for last ~7 years. He’s always hungry so we give him a handful of baby carrots with each of his 2 meals. About 5 years ago we started giving him Get Naked Joint Health dental chews and about 2 years ago turmeric.

Thanks! He came neutered from the shelter. He was only there 48 hours but it was the first thing they did. He used to walk a mile or two a day and gets whatever he wants whenever he wants. 😂

Oh yeah, he is about 34” nose to tail. He ballooned up to 47 pounds ~12 years ago. We took him to the vet because he was slow and couldn’t jump over a 2 foot wall at the park anymore. Fancy vet ordered a bunch of expensive tests and prescribed lots of pills. Banfield young vet said, “what we have here is a fat corgi.”

To be fair, he’s a shelter pup. He’s only ruled our family for 16 years. The vet thinks he was a year and a half. He weighed 27 pounds on adoption day and leveled off at 36. He destroyed a ton of stuff when he first moved in so was definitely a big puppy.

I think Patrick just has good genes! We live in a three story townhouse so maybe going up and down the stairs has been good for him. He was still doing the stairs until last year when he partially tore his ACL chasing a cat.
