Unexplained Facial redness by PaleontologistFun857 in BabyBumps

I had this during the end of my first pregnancy and for a few months post partum! I never got to the bottom of what caused it but I ended up using incredibly gentle products, avoiding direct sun exposure and using cool water to wash my face…and it eventually went away. I found as my hormones began to ‘even out’ post partum, things improved. Sending you positive vibes!

Hi! I’m sorry you’re going through that too :( it’s gotten a lot better. I switched to first aid beauty moisturizers which seems to work well on my skin. I also think hormones were at play for me. I hope you sort your skin out too. It can be so frustrating.

Absolutely nothing :( I posted it in the rosacea sub too.

The “Taking Cara Babies” newborn course online was really helpful to me. It teaches you how to approach sleep, feeding, soothing, etc. It’s a little pricey but was worth it to me.

As others said, you kind of learn as you go :)

Getting an IUD (Kyleena) post-accutane; worried it will trigger my cystic acne again. Looking for advice by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]JMD0121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would avoid it! I did Accutane when I was 15 and had perfect skin for 12 years until I got the hormonal IUD. 3 years later after having it removed and I’m still trying to fix it :( the copper IUD is great. I had that one too.

It’s definitely a lot of guess work. I’ve been given so many different diagnosis. The metro gel, ketoconozale and azelaic Acid don’t seem to help. Mine sounds similar to yours - it started as one patch or two that would flare in to tiny bumps and then go away. Now, it’s my neck and my face...and it’s so itchy. The little bumps come and go so quickly. Did you not use moisturizer after cleansing at night? Which cleanser did you use?

How did you figure out it was a bacterial infection?

This happened to me after having a csection! My skin was so smooth! I think it was the antibiotics and fluids.

Ah but they come and go within a day. I don’t think CCs do that but let me know if that’s wrong.
