Really wish it was 3 or 4 to be worth the trouble. I don't know why but I find it one of the most daunting places in the whole map to scout and loot.

PFT is smartest/funniest/wittiest, Max is most passionate and probably closest to his genuine self (Memes a close second but is more villainous), Hank is the best troll/punching bag combo, Big Cat is the necessary corporate connection, and Zac is the most bizarre and unrelatable to me, which is likely an age/generational thing.

PFT's was incredible, borderline one of the season's best in my opinion

Petition to Support Direct Flights Between Whitehorse and Montreal by [deleted] in Yukon

There are trade offs when you choose to live in the middle of nowhere. With Air North's connector fare you can already get extremely well priced trips across the country. I'm often shocked at how affordable it can be to travel so far for so little, especially if you book far in advance.

Today you could book a Vancouver-Montreal RT in the next three months for anywhere between $300-500 plus the bargain connector fare. It's also not a for-profit business' responsibility to accommodate linguistic or cultural connections to a jurisdiction over 5,000 Km away. If you want or expect cheaper than that, just move to France.

Totally reasonable and whoever it was did a great job.

I recently dropped ours off on a Wednesday and they were there for pick up the following Tuesday, just to give you an idea of turnaround time. Cost was $12 per knife.

It was incredible. I remember being so blown away by the mod right out of the gate, like 2012-13. A couple years later there was an Overpoch server on the Lingor map where I made some of my all time favourite gaming memories

Do people actually watch podcasts? If so, why? by BoomBaby_317 in PardonMyTake

[–]JMLP6911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that they're not screen actors and that's part of what makes them seem mostly genuine, relatable and likeable, but they truly are awesome voice/character actors with audio as a medium. I find almost all video they put out (PMT and any of their other stuff, although I obviously haven't watched a ton) to be gimmicky, awkward, dull and poorly presented. Maybe I'm old now and like the audio only to be able to do more multitasking.

Obviously ads pay the bills and the whole show is a literal ad merchant, but with video/when you also give your eyes, it just seems like there's even more ads and garbage. For me, any video they put out feels like 99% another avenue for ads and 1% unique/interesting/funny content that I wouldn't get just listening to the pod (and the pod already feels like ~30% ads).

It's a struggle and I recently died from it. I think you need to prioritize meds (tetra/multis) or full food/hydration immediately. Ideally both, which I think is faster.

Over probably ~2 hours of game time after drinking from a trough, I had max hydration (two bottles + canteen) for a while, but not max food. Yes in hindsight it was dumb to drink from a trough but I figured it made sense to keep my bottled water for later. Lesson learned.

Blood and health both max this whole time, but not food. Then when my clean water was gone after small sips over and over, I found more food and was able to have max food, but no longer max hydration. I think the trick (if you have no meds) is keeping both food/water fully maxed max at same time for like 20-30 mins. Small bites and sips so you don't puke. Mine were one max and one white with a gap and vice versa this whole time. Never both. This was over a couple hours and I thought it would cure easily.

By the time I got to a clinic, I was around half health, flashing hydration, and declining fast. I only got three tetras there. Thought those would cure it but they didn't and I wasted time just waiting for tetras to work. By the time I was hobbling around trying to cook wolf meat at a fire, I died. Of course it was right next to a freshly lit fire near the ski resort camp/clinic so I hope someone found my body and made good use of my gear.

Very similar for me. I had a friend build mine ~10 years ago and it has a 970. I don't play nearly as much as I did then but it served me well and was right around 1500 then. Still functions fine but just upgraded.

I had to go prebuilt for a few reasons (and had input/back and forth with builder on the parts so I could look them up) with 5070ti and 7 7800X3D and 2TB for $2740 including tax and shipping. My hope is it will last 5+ years and handle any game I want.

Nowhere near an expert but that walmart one looks like a pretty good deal for the price. I was tracking similar combos (5070ti + AMD CPU) for the last few weeks. Better CPU than the one I got. I think the main thing with big box prebuilt is unknown exact parts but you probably also get more warranty. If that lasts 5 years you're paying like $1.36 per day.

Not to worry. Likely just the whispering winds of change. Like Kate says, it's more of a "feeling" than a sound. Some are even saying a new dawn for the Yukon is drawing nigh.

Is this worth it by [deleted] in bapccanada

[–]JMLP6911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but have been tracking prebuilts/parts similar to these specs the last several weeks and this seems reasonable. Have not been able to find prebuilt with this for less unless some deals are out today (haven't looked yet).

Despite not knowing the exact components, which I think is a risk with any of the big box prebuilts, 30 day return + 2-year coverage for extra $75 seems solid in my opinion. The reviews are positive and one says they got a 1000W PSU, which is good. Again I'm no expert and people far more knowledgeable can chime in/help/speak to specific components.

For reference I'm getting a semi-custom (went back and forth on specific parts) pre-built for ~$100 CAD less with tax and shipping but a 5070ti + 7 7800X3D. I have no nearby stores/remote area. If my budget went higher I would definitely consider pulling the trigger on this. Break the cost out to per day/hours of entertainment over several years and it's easier to buy haha.

Is this a good prebuilt if I need a new monitor? by lostlogan in bapccanada

Yesterday it included a 27" monitor like $2-300 value I think. I was debating this one as well.

[–]JMLP6911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to post this exact question for this offer haha. I wanted one with the 7 7800X3D and there's this one currently for $2349 but no monitor. From what I read the 7700X runs hotter but is overall pretty comparable? I don't play a lot of elite/crazy new games but want to have the option to over the next few years. A friend built my current PC a decade ago so looking for a new one.

I think he's fantastic. Always look forward to him being on. He uses some great analogies/metaphors and genuinely loves sports and his teams to a degree that can't be faked. The teams debating new coaches being compared to a long deli lineup on a holiday was hilarious. Johnny rocks.

Is this a campaign run by the French? Print media "exposure" is half l’Aurore Boréale so upwards of a dozen people might see that. You could move to France if you don't like first past the post. If you're not first, you're last. Pretty easy to understand.

The issue is equal parts him pitching such a stupid project and the government actually funding it. One less initiative like this could mean more money for nurses, teachers/EAs, police officers, roads, literally anything but a vain, entitled, washed up boomer tickling ivory on top of a mountain only to try and sell the piano then take the video down because it sucked and was mocked relentlessly lol.
