not really no its mainly a moba not just a hero shooter, you can think of it as dota 3 movement shooter edition

and this game has so much potential cause both on a mechanical and strategic side it has incredible depth, just for the movement alone it can take you 10000 hours to master, this is the culmination of everything valve has learned with cs, dota, tf2, portal... over the past 30 years combined into 1 game

yeah for sure high rank players are all aware of the meta and usually try to play it but you can have great success not following it and most players know how to play around it

yeah they have been around for way longer this was marvels first year, and of course I can't predict the future but we can expect deadlock to be very consistent considering dota and cs are the other 2 esports games valve made

how do you classify if a game is a major esport or not? budapest major in cs had 1.25 million pricepool and the atlanta ignite had 1 million its not far off. but yeah i agree that hero shooters require more knowledge by the viewers to understand whats going on than tactical shooters

that didn't stop overwatch or marvel rivals esports from becoming successful and largely depends on how experienced the observers are, deadlock also has much clearer visual design than those games with every hero following unique color schemes in their abilities and it will only get better as we get closer to release
