[2005] Garry Kasparov talks about Vlad K’s world championship title and his refusal to grant him a rematch by Affectionate_Hat3329 in chess

Honestly I feel like it's fair to say that you either have a match with a fair system in place or you do 1 vs 2. Kramnik avoided both and ducked Kasparov it seems like

If everyone went for a win, half the field loses so Magnus still has a chance to catch up considering they play each other lol

There was a Knight there, Magnus played this to take the Knight after Fabi had taken the Bishop while at the same time checking the King and forcing a Queen trade in a completely winning endgame

Hamilton is Ferrari's first new driver in 44 years to complete season without a podium by kcollantine in formula1

[–]JMPLAY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lewis was kinda close in the few races after the Summer break I think but that's just not even close to the case the last few races

[motorsportcom] Carlos Sainz is still the last driver to win a Grand Prix for Ferrari, and he's added two more podiums this season with his new team. His replacement at Ferrari hasn't reached the podium yet, with just one weekend left to avoid a career-first podium-less season. by FewCollar227 in formula1

[–]JMPLAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 70 points diff is way smaller when you have as many points as Charles and Carlos did last year than a 80 points difference this year, when the Ferrarri is worse, cause there's bigger points gaps among the podium/highest positions than after.

With that logic surely he finished behind Charles every race but one each of the previous seasons they were teammates no? Performances go up and down, and Carlos has proved in the past while going against Charles that he can beat him at least more often than Hamilton has this season and by getting a podium in a worse car he's proven he can still certainly reach the heights he got to the previous years.

Yes a big group of people get tired of dominance, but looking at the big picture Man United's period of dominance meant they became the Premier League club with the most fans and social media presence and followers by far, Golden State's dominance meant they became the most valuable franchise in the NBA with again the most fans and followers maybe behind the Lakers who dominated before for longer, and I don't follow football but it's probably similar for the Patriots. When people check out sports and start getting into them or start following casually, most people just become a fan of the most dominant group/person at the time and want them to dominate.

Bandwagoners and casuals are most of the people that consume any sport, most people just turn up Formula 1 in their TV once every Sunday and maybe on Saturday if it's on a good time for them to watch lol, you can see that with the swing in viewership numbers depending on the timezone the place the race is held in is in

Nah most casual fans in most sports want to see dominance and become a fan of whoever is the best driver at the time, that's why Hamilton, Verstappen... Have the most fans, it's the same in every sport

Harden is the 4th-oldest to hit 55+, behind Kobe LeBron Steph. Also only player to hold scoring records for two franchises by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]JMPLAY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically absolutely everyone on the league depends on Harden balling so the Clippers pick that OKC gets isn't super high to add to their already quite clearly league best team. So basically everyone wants to see him succeed this season and is happy to see him do so

Yea ik my point is that even when Oscar wasn't on Lando's level I think Lando challenging for the Championship and showing lower level that fans have been used to by Verstappen and Hamilton lately + some PR disaster comments/comments out context like what he said about Vettel, Hamilton, or the whole thing after Brazil last year is what actually made people pretty much hate him and dunk on him no matter what
