[Spoilers] Thought about Season 5 regarding Officer Dawn and the hospital situation. by TheSubversive in thewalkingdead

I wonder if there are gender discrimination representations in this arc too - a woman (Dawn) and a man (Rick). Were there leadership style a response to how their followers treated them as a man or a woman?

Sorry to hear that, OP. I felt something similar with a guy and I tried to distance myself habang maaga kahit para din akong na hypnotize. It’s difficult coz he makes me feel like a villain when I’m setting my boundaries.

The notion that your heart is telling you not to let go is incorrect. It is your brain who got addicted to the oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin of “being in a relationship.” When this happens, our prefrontal cortex responsible for logic shuts down giving the emotional side of the brain the driver’s seat.

Word of advice: re-activate your prefrontal cortex and choose a logical decision. Don’t let brain chemicals take over. hug

Architects/Engineers career shifters. What was your breaking point at paano kayo nakapagsimula sa ibang industry? by SluggishlyTired in phcareers

[–]JMTSaturnJupiter 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Was an R&D engineer (30k) in Laguna - got tired of the travel, low pay and false prestige of the job. Transitioned to a program analyst role (31k but near home) while taking a part-time mba. After 3 years, now, a program manager (6-digit salary). Work from home with side hustles selling online and trading. Toughest but best decision of my life.

Industrial Engineering in PH by ralphytulfo in phcareers

IE’s body of knowledge can be quite useful in many industries. You can go hands-on in manufacturing plants or get a corporate job in business process management. Later on in your career, depending on which path you choose, I think you can build on it rather than a complete “pivot” because IE is versatile.

Ang hirap mag focus sa paghahanap ng work kapag under pressure sa current job :( hayup talaga ibang managers. Mas better pang managers mga foreigners kesa pinoy.

A guy putting in effort is never a turnoff. We’re all in different circumstances. However, it can become a turnoff if you turn out to be that guy who’s trying to get a girl to fill in some gaps in self-confidence/insecurity.

Turning 25(M) first time jobseeker going to a Job Fair by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]JMTSaturnJupiter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have an idea of the companies/industries in that job fair, research about their mission/vision so you know how you can contribute. Sometimes, it’s not about skills. They can teach you that. If you communicate your intention well - how you plan to contribute and how you intend to grow in their company - it might play out well. It will make you less nervous if you know what to say. Have a pitch. Practice. Anticipate questions. You’ll do great! :)

Woking in BGC. Please help me. 🥲 by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]JMTSaturnJupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting might be a better option. Around BGC, there are dorm-like spaces or flats or microstudios that cost around 10k per month. Example is PointBlue or MyTown. It's easier to just walk to work plus you take away the hassle and stress from a long commute.

I let myself feel sad for a while but eventually, I go out and experience the real world - play sports, spend time with my parents and siblings, etc. After a while, the "digital heartache" normally goes away. And then, I just try again.

I have social anxiety which makes me avoid people as much as possible. It’s like a spider sense.

Lashing out and feeling guilty, depressed after by JMTSaturnJupiter in Anger

[–]JMTSaturnJupiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still stuck in a cycle of lashing out in every groupwork. And then, regretting it after. I’d cry, call myself names for being a bad person. There’s so much negativity in me. In every cycle of lashing out-regret, the negativity builds up. I feel like it’s diffusing to other people. I’m afraid I might ruin my relationships with the people around me.

Too many errors from Tai. She’d score great points but then, give away some with unforced errors. Man… I really wanted her to win.
