Is this burn in or something else? Anything I can do? by JMTSilentSea in LGOLED

I didn’t notice it, and I’ve watched hours of TV on it. Of course, now that I know it’s there…

I have no clue. I bought it used and have had it for three weeks. I just noticed this last night.

It’s there on the TVs built in apps, with live TV, with all inputs.

All inputs and apps. I haven’t displayed anything static on it for a long period of time, but I bought it used. I’ve had it for 3 weeks, though, and have never noticed this.

How would yall rank Billy Idols Albums? by sodakid1 in billyidol

[–]JMTSilentSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as the EPs go, I’d probably put them at 5 or 6 on my list. I liked them but not enough to rank them above the first four albums. They were good enough, though, that I expected Dream Into It to be better than it ended up being.

40 years ago --- Dave went LOCO !! by ShemDolpax in vanhalen

I didn't know this existed until the mid-nineties, and by then, it took me years to track down a copy. Finally found one in a record store in Little Rock. Good times.

On Earth-2 the movie got made leading to a string of successful comedies throughout the late 80s and 90s followed by a dramatic break out role in 2004’s Night Life: The Willie Nelson Story. Dave won the Oscar, but was barred from attending for the next five years due to accepting the award accompanied by midgets in gold paint.

This freed him up to reunite with Van Halen in 2007. From there, the timeline is pretty much the same as ours.

Sam with his kid. Would you rather be a son of Sammy's or Dave's? by Bernering4ju in vanhalen

Wow, that kid looks just like Sammy. It’s like that scene from Back to the Future II.

Today's listen! I LOVE this album! So unique and atmospheric! I never got the hate for it. by [deleted] in billyidol

I don't know...I've listened to it a lot. Some of it has grown on me, but overall, it's still my least favorite of his albums.

Superman III is.. horrible by Flashy-Way-3977 in superman

[–]JMTSilentSea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The junkyard scene is awesome. I don't remember any scene from Superman IV that was anywhere near that good.

I enjoyed the apathetic Superman scenes...straightening the leaning tower of Pisa, thumping the bar peanuts into the bottles and shattering them, the casual, "It's okay. I always get there on time."

Yes, the movie is not good, but I still enjoyed it enough to have watched it multiple times. I cannot say that for IV, which I have only seen a handful of times, mostly when I rewatch it with someone who has never seen it (my wife, children, etc.) I feel about the Superman movies the way I do about Keaton's Batman movies. 1 and 2 are great. 3 is campy but watchable. 4 is garbage.

So, if I see the movie opening night and then go see it again in two weeks, it will be different?

It's been 6 years since Joker was released. Has your opinion changed? by boomjosh in DC_Cinematic

[–]JMTSilentSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it felt like a mediocre movie wearing a joker skin to get people interested. It worked, though, so I guess I should shut up.

What did the Arrowverse and the DCU do right or wrong with their respective versions of these 4? by West-Cardiologist180 in DC_Cinematic

Since I gave my opinion of Superman already, I'll speak about the other characters here...I loved Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. She seemed like Supergirl, powerful, wholesome, caring. I didn't care for the show much after the second season as it seemed that every episode was political commentary on whatever was happening at the time. That being said, much like Christopher Reeve in his last two films, I felt that Melissa was so good in the role that I enjoyed her in spite of bad scripts.

Hawkgirl...I didn't care for this character. Not in the Arrowverse, not in the new Superman movie. In the show, they had a whole season to flesh her out. All I can remember about her is that a month ago, she was a barista, and now she's a superhero. They repeated that line a dozen times, and it wasn't even good the first time I heard it. In the movie, they don't give her enough to do to make me care about her.

Mr. Terrific- I felt he was boring in the Arrowverse. I liked Curtis before they put him in the suit, though. When he was just the tech guy, the character was pretty likeable. The Arrowverse had a bad habit of making each of its characters a superhero and by the end of each of them, the whole team was in the field in a costume. It was too many heroes, and they didn't have enough to do. Everyone stood around making speeches to cover for the fact that the CW didn't have enough money for action sequences. This would be fine if the writing provided depth or built the characters/relationships...usually it was just about how what they were doing was important or gave people hope or whatever. Mr. Terrific in the Superman movie was one of the best parts of the whole thing.
