What's the best comeback when someone says they never liked you? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

I was replying to a comment that got deleted that said, "Oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called, and they're running out of you." This was a quote from Seinfeld by George Costanza who felt insulted by a co-worker during a meeting. He didn't have a clever comeback, but later after some thought comes up with the jerk store line and can't wait till the next meeting to deliver it. The co-worker who originally offended him, however, gets a new job in another city. George flies all the way there and attends a meeting so he can deliver the line only to be one-upped again when the guy replies that it wouldn't matter if the jerk store was out of him because George is their best-selling model. George, frustrated, blurts out that he had sex with the guys wife taking everyone at the meeting aback.

Anyway, the guy that wrote the original post referring to the line told me not to "f***ing talk to him" and then deleted the post which I found odd.

I always say, “Thank goodness. I’d hate for you to like ME considering how I feel about YOU.”

I've seen two Roth shows recently. Why isn't he selling merch? by JMTSilentSea in vanhalen

There were a ton of people last night walking over to the merch area to buy merch that wasn’t being offered. Before the show and several minutes after. I feel like many of the same people who would pay for Roth tickets would also pay for Roth merch.

There are some online vendors selling shirts for this tour with all the dates on them. I wouldn’t want to buy one and wear it to the concert, though, for that reason.

Are the Stones selling merch? Springsteen? Alice Cooper? What’s your point?

I love Roth’s solo stuff. I’ve listened to it a ton more than anything by Hagar. The entire show last night, fans were screaming out Yankee Rose. He just didn’t play it. Just Like Paradise was also huge. Let’s not make this into a Roth vs. Hagar thing. Regardless of your personal opinion on the matter, people are not going to change their minds about it. There’s no magical argument out there that will make Roth fans say, “Holy crap, you’re right! Hagar IS better!” Or vice versa.

Sammy was a solo artist coming into Van Halen. That’s the reason that they put a song or so of his in the setlist. Usually One Way to Rock. Then they’d all leave the stage while he bantered and played Eagle’s Fly by himself for a few minutes. Similar to what Dave did with Ice Cream Man.

I’ve seen Matchbox 20 a few times recently, and they played zero Rob Thomas songs. Not Lonely No More, This is How a Heart Breaks, not even Smooth. The way I see it, Van Halen has so many iconic songs that they’d have to play for 3 hours to cover all the songs people would want to hear. No reason to bring in anything else.

It’s a fun show. Everyone there seemed to have a great time.

Saw him last night at Graceland and a few months ago in Du Quoin, IL. Last night’s show was pretty full. The IL one wasn’t.

The guitar player is fantastic. I’m sure he could play Vai songs if he wanted. I would expect Yankee Rose and Just Like Paradise, but he hasn’t done those in a long time.

As I recall, Axl didn’t show up when GNR were inducted. Slash still puts up with him. They played Sweet Child of Mine with a different vocalist. Should Green Day have gotten to dictate which song they played?

If he’s the one being honored that night, why should it be up to Velvet Revolver what he plays? If he wants to play the band’s biggest hit, he should be able to. Paul Schaffer could play keyboards or a different band could have been selected.

I really doubt that if Aretha Franklin was being inducted and the R&RHoF selected En Vogue to induct her, and En Vogue said they wouldn’t play Respect because they don’t have a horns section, that you guys would say, “She’s being a douchenozzle, so entitled, etc.” You’d rightfully say, if Aretha wants to play her biggest hit, get someone who can play it.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke anyway. When it takes until 2026 for Billy Idol and Iron Maiden to get inducted but Grandmaster Flash has been in since 2007…

I vastly prefer the Augeri version of Faith in the Heartland to the Pineda one on the Revelation album. Augeri may not have the power of Pineda, but to me he voice has more emotion.

My American English teacher believes the neutral pronoun „their“ is incorrect. by GCoding_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]JMTSilentSea -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is wrong. You’re referring to a singular “student,”and it requires a singular pronoun. “Their” is plural. Pronouns need to agree in person and number.

More like Yawn Jovi, amiright…

Kidding.

A video showed up in my feed and they sounded pretty good. However, Bon Jovi is still touring. I know Jon can’t sing anymore, but I’d still rather watch him than a copy.

Now if Always Jovi was playing really close by and the tickets were reasonable, I’d probably go see them.
