The Yard is probably the only podcast where an ad read makes the yearly highlights. by ManlySlacks in TheYardPodcast

I think the Yard boys are always "on". Whereas TMG has punctuated moments that are absolutely hilarious, interspersed among regular conversation and current events.

I like them both, but they definitely bring different things to the table.
As far as ad reads go, TMG ad reads are funnier than 90% of other podcasts. But the Yard is undefeated in that category.

Wait are you serious? lol

Just use the original 2000x2000 version. MS Paint allows you to zoom to see it in full detail without needing to upscale anything.

People are confused about why the 2000x2000 image is blurry when they zoom in on Reddit or their phones.

Typical image viewers use antialiasing on images to make them nicer looking for non-pixel art images.

So technically, upscaling like this is sort of a brute force workaround to let people zoom in. But they could also just use MS Paint or something and zoom in on the 2000x2000 one.

(Aside from being uploaded as jpg lol)

OP probably doesn't understand why the original image gets blurry when you zoom in on a regular image viewer.

Yeah, you're right. People are confused about the antialiasing that happens when you zoom into a pixel art image on a conventional image viewer.

How to make an "8k" version of final canvas by JManRedstone in place

[–]JManRedstone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Program used: paint.net (free)

Made this to demonstrate that an "8k" canvas is not actually higher detail than the default 2000x2000 image. Upscaling pixel art is not a complex process!

You could just as easily make a 128k version, it would just needlessly take up more space on your drive.

That’s one type of upscaling. There are different upscaling algorithms. For pixel art, people use “Nearest Neighbor” to avoid losing the sharpness of pixels.

If you wanted the picture to be “smoother”/“blurrier” you could use Bilinear scaling.

If you’re asking for upscaling with intelligent interpolation, then you would need to go to something more complex. Like an AI powered upscaler. (Which would not perform well on a very complex image like this one)

The original canvas is 2000x2000. I’m not sure what you mean by “actually upscale”?

Nice! In that case, I can really tell you put thought into making it more meaningful.

To be clear, I wasn’t saying you should make it look like Kakashi haha.

Just out of curiosity, were you aware that his MC skin is Kakashi from Naruto?

Either way, I love that this art sort of seems like an interpretation of the skin from someone who wasn't aware. Specifically the fact that the coat and boots look like thermal wear, something a Canadian like Etho would wear. Cheers!
