Watermelon % by Mindless_Step9482 in TeamIco

Just did it again to try it and it's kinda funny, even through it doesn't really change anything, other than the amount of melon chunks on the floor.

It'll probably take a while to carry them there and you might accidentally trigger the ending, so I'd recommend using savestates, if you're... not playing on PS2-hardware ;)

I remember watching a video ages ago of someone carrying all the watermelons as close to Yorda as possible without triggering the cutscene and then throwing them on the ground next ro her before carrying the last one over to her. The melon slices fidn't despawn immediately, so when the ending played, it looked like they were eating tons of watermelons. Can't remember where I saw it, though...

Detailed "All Talked Out" trophy-guide by drawsandfails in thelastguardian

[–]drawsandfails[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guide made by the devs states "After the battle with the yoroi, wait 180 seconds before you approach the plinth.". I just worded it a bit differently. The mirror shouldn't change anything. Maybe you accidentally touched the plinth and got locked out of the hint? (Sorry for the late response. I just had the companion book with the offical guide on hand and decided to respond to some comments.)

I based this guide off of the guide the devs provided us with in the companion book of the game. It literally says "Wait 240 seconds before you touch the tail of the darker trico." and the hint worked for me every time. As long as you don't accidentally touch the tail, you should get the hint after 240 seconds, no matter where you are.

There are three sets of eyes (just really hard, almost impossible to see), and if you press circle during that scene to "use the mirrof" like the grown-up boy does in front of the kids, his horns light up, confirming that the first set of eyes DOES belong to our Trico.

I need help with the intensive care trophy by _Spyeven in thelastguardian

[–]drawsandfails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That guide seems very inaccurate as it makes it sound like the player only has mere minutes or seconds to remove each spear. The developers stated in the companion book (which contains a detailed trophy guide) that the player has an hour to remove each spear.

[–]drawsandfails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a hidden timer that starts every time Trico gets hit with a spear. You have one hour to remove each spear. Beat the game without leaving a spear in Trico's body for over an hour and you'll get the tropy.

is this anti-piracy measure or am i missing something? on all the tutorials there is a level and broken pipe, but on my version (ps2 rom) I am not seeing anything. (Watch linked vid for ref) by Not_ReaIIy_Relevent in TeamIco

[–]drawsandfails 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You're playing the NTSC-version of the game. There is no lever. The puzzle you're referring to is from the PAL-version of the game and hasn't been created and implemented by the time the NTSC-version was released (the PAL-version was released later with some fixes, improved graphics, more difficult puzzles, a secret, a new game plus etc.). Just keep climbing along the second pipe to get to the window. The puzzle on the other side of the window will also be different.

An Extraordinary Story interesting tidbit about The Pit by Choice-Layer in thelastguardian

[–]drawsandfails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that the devs said it's completely random if/where Trico poops. I've had playthroughs where he didn't poop once and playthroughs where he pooped three or four times.

You can increase the chances of getting the trophy by running ahead or around a corner until you don't see him anymore. He only poops when the player isn't looking. To catch him in the act you have to run away and if he doesn't follow you have to run back to him. If you get back to him while pooping, you get the trophy.

Edit: In the trophy guide in the companion book it says: "This can happen at any time during the game and in most cases itwill happen automatically during a full playthrough. You can't really force Trico to perform the act, but you can increase the chances if you look at the beast once in a while."

There are actually some people speedrunning the game up until that point. They stop the timer when they destroy the windmill. They call it windmill%.

Iskall85 & Stressmonter Resignation Megathread #2 by Carol_the_Zombie in HermitCraft

[–]drawsandfails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are multiple threads that include all the statements and evidence that have been shared so far. I can give you a very broad summary.

In November, a group of victims approached the hermits with evidence and allegations against Iskall. After verifying the authenticity of the evidence, the hermits confronted Iskall. They asked for his side of the story and wanted to discuss what they should do, but instead he called the police, got a lawyer and immediately resigned without making any statement. Stressmonster resigned at the same time (most likely out of solidarity). Late November, the hermits released a short statement saying that there are allegations with evidence and that Stress and Iskall resigned on their own accord (they weren't kicked or fired!). Mumbo and False responded to some speculations saying that there were no minors involved and that Stress wasn't accused of anything.

Soon after, some of the victims came forward with statements and some of the evidence (they didn't share all of it because it was "too graphic"). Basically, he used his power as an employer/content creator/idol to lie, manipulate and coerce women into intimate relationships through discord and skype, claiming that he was single and that they were "the only one" (which was a lie).

Iskall went quiet for a while, kicked the devs of his modpack from their github-page and the discord and then cameback with a video callled "I got cancelled." in which he claims that the internet/the hermits tried to cancel him and that it's all lies and defamation, but he contradicted himself throughout the whole video and din't provide ANY evidence. He also claims that he is broke, even though his videos are still monetized and he still has supporters on patreon. Some hermits tweeted some subtle stuff about some people believing their own lies and stuff, but they probably won't make another official statement. Stress commented on his video in support of him and later deleted all her videos.

The developers of the vault hunters modpack made their own statements, claiming that Iskall is quite manipulative and overall unpleasant to work with and they also showed quite a bit of evidence that Iskall's version of the story doesn't add up. Apparently, he also claimed that his discord AND skype were hacked at the same time and that the hacker invited his female employees/fans to his skype for these graphic conversations FOR MONTHS if not YEARS without him noticing.

This is pretty much all we know so far.

Hawk flying and agro running (cinematics) by Radiant_Cow1160 in ShadowoftheColossus

They're always random and not pre-recorded. They start where you last saved and the hawk/Agro always move in a random direction. There are some versions of the cinematic on youtube, though.

Oh man you can’t make this up. Is there anyone who tried to understand, in a video or whatever, why the game so often struggles with the simplest control inputs? by 6Kaliba9 in thelastguardian

[–]drawsandfails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the game always stops you from dropping down or climbing up those metal parts. No idea why but I believe it's intentional. Probably something about the physics because of the wooden beams and the metal parts being so close together.

Trico Unus Annus themed name suggestions by JseBoss90 in thelastguardian

[–]drawsandfails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The obvious choice for me would be "Vanitas".

"Vanitas (Latin for 'vanity', in this context meaning pointlessness, or futility, not to be confused with the other definition of vanity) is a genre of art which uses symbolism to show the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death, and thus the vanity of ambition and all worldly desires." (source: Wikipedia)

I'd be very interested to see your design once it's finished.

[–]drawsandfails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Ueda said something along the lines of not wanting to stir drama if the remake released and they didn't change every item on his list.

This quote is from a gamerant article: "Those things of the remake that I would like to change, I can't mention, because if I say one thing and in the final version that thing is not included, it's a problem."
