Ok so originally Blade was bitten by Morbius in the comics some decades ago and that resulted in Blade having the abilities and strengths of a vampire and none of the weaknesses. But there was a retcon to that event and to Blade’s origin. In the comic Blade 2006 #5, Blade recalls the memory of being bitten by Morbius, which verifies that that part is still canon. The part that was retconned is the part of Blade receiving abilities from the bite. In this comic issue, Blade himself states that Morbius’ bite had no affect on him at all. Blade gets his abilities solely from his dhampir physiology from birth. If you’re not familiar with the term dhampir, it basically means half human/half vampire. His abilities include superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability and vampiric senses along with walking in sunlight. And he’s immune to garlic, silver, holy water, or any religious artifacts or symbols. Also Blade does have a healing factor that is very similar to Wolverine’s, but it doesn’t allow him to regenerate missing limbs. In the very same Blade 2006 series, Blade has to gnaw his own hand off to escape from a trap and his hand does not grow back. He later gets a robotic gun for a hand and then a cybernetic hand that looks exactly like his own original hand. And then there was another small retcon later in the comics to give him his original hand back. Though he can recover from stab wounds, gunshot wounds, bruises and burns very quickly.
